With everything that has happened over the last couple of years there have been some things that have been overlooked. Raising some very troublesome questions involving the order of whispers.

1. In the Chantry of Secrets there is a Ley-line globe. This means that the Order of Whispers already knew where Mordremoth was long before he woke up. It also shows that they knew the significance of Ley-lines all along. Why has the Order been silent on this subject?

2. Demmi Bettlestone: In the order of whispers personal story you rescue Demmi from what we have been told is her father’s clutches. She says she has some juicy evidence against Caudicus. In the end she joins the Order of Whispers. This can go 2 ways, the first being that Demmi is a plant of the White Mantle into the order of whispers. The second is that she is what she said she was. What was the intel that Demmi had for the Order? If it was that Caudicus was the confessor of the White Mantle, why was nothing done to act on that information?

Is the Order our friend? They never give us information. When someone brings something up, they chime in that they already knew that. This happens several times through the personal stories. They steal from the Priory. They have spies in both the other orders. It seems that they have some long game in play, but they are not sharing it with anyone, even though you might be a member of the Order of Whispers, it feels like it is very honorary. I get the feeling that we found out the Master of Whispers too easily. Is Riel even the Master of Whispers? The more questions I come up with, the less I trust the Order of Whispers.
Many times I talk to an Orders npc that says thanks for everything you have done for the order, but what we are doing here is need to know, and you don’t need to know, so pound sand. Which strikes me as a little odd, if Riel is the Master, and we know that. Isn’t that a bigger secret than some little op that is going on? Unless it turns out that all we know, is just a deception.

Because it’s not a globe showing ley-lines. Anet has said that it is a globe showing threats (or at least what the order perceives to be threats).

2. Demmi Bettlestone: In the order of whispers personal story you rescue Demmi from what we have been told is her father’s clutches. She says she has some juicy evidence against Caudicus. 1. I think it’s just poor storytelling on Anet’s part. Since we are a high-ranking order member in the end, knowing who the master is and so on and since we went through the whole thing with Demmi, logic-wise we would know what she shared. However, since your order story stops being important the moment the Pact comes around, Anet just never went anywhere with that story.

2. I think the information would not be as obvious as Caudecus = Mantle, but more subtle, for example, giving more substance to the relationship the ministers have with bandits/centaurs or something of that nature.

Well.. Yes, the order is our friend. However, the order is clearly presented as an ‘the ends justify the means’-kind of organization. They manipulate nations, they inflitrate various organizations and the like, but they do all that with the goal of fighting the dragons and helping the races survive. They feel that the secrecy, keeping information to themselves, sneaking about and using others are necessary for that goal. You shouldn’t trust their means, but you can clearly trust their goals.

That’s my thinking as well. Caudecus would probably have hidden his Mantle-ness from his daughter, but it’s unlikely that he’s been able to stop her from overhearing everything.

Another possibility, though, is that the Order of Whispers knew, but didn’t have anything they could reasonably do with the information. If it was practical to assassinate him, they probably would have already done so. Announcing to the world that Caudecus is White Mantle could just lead to Caudecus and his supporters claiming that the OoW are royalist stooges bringing up fairy-tale accusations in a pitiful effort to discredit the queen’s enemies, and it just goes to show how weak the queen’s position is that she attempts such dirty tactics. Such an announcement could even have the result of sparking off the Krytan civil war that the OoW was probably trying to prevent.

To those who think Scarlet hate means she’s succeeded as a villain:
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.

It would be nice if they would create something like a briefing mail for every order, that players can pierce together to form a better picture and give more sense of a moving world.

Like we get a mail at some point of a release (beginning, middle or end), that tells us about things moving, to show that the order you have joined is aware of these things.

For example:
The story is going a political uproar with the humans, have the mails be about some things that are weird there and maybe have a protagonist investigate (lightbringer shadowpaw adventure in the human city, or so)

Have vigil soldiers report from unrest in the people there and the priory go on about how things are kinda similiar to the things they have read about the white mantle yeas back.

Then players could connect the dots.

Though things shouldn’t be as straight forward and about the same topic. Maybe have reports from the ront line vigil about new minion movements. Have reports from new development in Priory research, etc.

Many things, that could advance the story in the background to create a more lively world.

Combine that with the fact that we might even be able to visit some of these NPCs at one point, it presents a rather interesting story device in my opinion.
