Pact or DE?
I think you can’t compare them. Five adventurers (six if you count that cute little wolf) against a whole army?
But that’s kinda what they do in the books XD
As far as the storyline goes, I’d say you have to think of it like an RTS game. You have your standard units you can make – Archers/swordsmen/cavalry- which are the pact, and then there are the few but extra powerful hero units, DE
Moba, pact are minions and DE are champions/heroes
total DE contribution to killing zhaitan
1. piss around for the entire time the pact are invading orr
2. finally show up when we’re already in arah
3. help the commander of the pact forces find some energy nodes
4. get on the airship
5. do jack all on said airship
6. switch to second airship
7. Zojja charges a pact cannon that A. should have already been charged and B. already had a bloody operator standing by
8. standing around while the commander of the pact forces uses pact technology mounted on a pact airship to bring down zhaitan
Final score
10/100
See me after class.
Destiny’s Edge are valuable to the fight but not compared to the Pact. Do remember that when they fought Kralkatorik they had help from Glint.
Zojja was responsible for the upgrades to the weaponry on the Glory of Tyria mega-airship that allowed the Pact to bring down Zhaitan.
However, Destiny’s Edge couldn’t wade through a nation of undead on their own – when facing any army before, their victory came from using the surroundings (avalanche versus icebrood), other others (Lionguard vs risen). Similarly, Zojja merely upgraded the weaponry, not create.
I’d say that, overall, the Pact is more important and helpful, but Destiny’s Edge has more experience compared to any other individual, and is worth more than any Pact individual (sans the PC, of course).
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
@ konig. Does it ever state that zojja did those?
As far as im aware, the cannon is the same one that Gixx operates inside the priory, or a similar one to the one used against tequatl. Which is again, a priory operated base.
The cannon as far as I can tell was priory designed, built, and tested (against risen and tequatl) all zojja did was charge it up after kicking its actual operator out of the chair.
But the cannon was powered by dragonic energies.
