Personal Story broken
You’d put a level 66 and level 73 story step in a level 75-80 zone?
Bout as logical as ArenaNet’s removal of the fear arc and swapping around of the final chapter.
They don’t need to reorganize Chapter 8 to have Chapter 7 (fear arc originally) unlock at level 70 and Chapter 8 unlock at level 80.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
A.net already do this and move “Personal Story” entrance to Fort Trinity Airship to avoid sending people in Orr with an underpower character.
But currently, the order isn’t correct. You purify the Source of Orr, Trahearne tell you that it’s nearly over and you must kill Zhaitan, and after you have to kill the first Eye, and weaken Zhaitan’s armies…

The order being false is well known for being wrong currently, and we’ve already received word that Anet are working to “fix” the plot holds and story inconsistencies – whatever that’s meant to mean, given how vague the wording was.
Altering the levels to such extend as you did is unnecessary and just downright painful to the players. Fort Trinity itself is in a level 70+ area, yet you have level 59s going there. The bordering zone that’s closest to Fort Trinity is level 60-70 – going from Sparkfly Fen (a level 55-65 zone) would still put you lower than the zone’s levels. This is also true for The Greatest Fear arc (chapter 7). Even going further back, you’re sending level 38s into level 40+ zones (Blazeridge Steppes, Dredgehaunt Cliffs, and Bloodtide Coast).
Your leveling schematic just wouldn’t work. Throughout the entire storyline from “Minor race help” (chapter 5) and onward, you’re sending players into zones that are too high for them – while before that, they’re exceedingly higher than the zones you’re sending them into.
You also just split chapter 8 into 4, which to me is too much, and at best should be split into 3 at levels 70 75 and 80. Though more preferably, 75, 80, 80.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

That actually happened before – my OoW Charr had to walk to the Whispers-HQ in Bloodtide Coast by level 38 or so.
Yes, the Order of Whispers story arc does send a character to a too high level – still does, I think, though by a lesser amount. But that’s one issue as opposed to a lot.

So, I just did “Source of Orr” and this story step definitely seems broken in that way, that I’ve met people there, talking to me like I should know them and saluting me for helping them out and saving their lives…
…while I just stood there like “Who are you? O.o”
Aside from the kind of rushed feeling I got from getting the personal story served in chunks every ten levels I think this really breaks immersion
They are just inferior developers. I love GW2 but I despise Anet. They are horrible at supporting their games. I told myself this many time before I started playing GW2. I said remember what they did to GW1 but the new game was so enticing. I left WoW, D3 and SC2 for a game I knew that they would eventually ruin, destroy and give up on. This is just how they are. Not much else to say really. Blizzard is not perfect but at least they have a plan and support their games. This is not something that Anet has ever done. I enjoy GW2 much more than WoW but over the long haul the latter will remain supreme despite it’s flaws. Sorry but it’s the truth.
