So I decided to make a heavy RP-based character, and chose to be blessed by Grenth (as he is a necromancer). After completing the Defense of Shaemoor, I spoke to a Priest of Dwayna, and found out there was a Priest of Grenth in the Shaemoor Graveyard.
Speaking to him during the day, he mentions a mystical presence he cannot quite pinpoint. One of the conversation options is looking into the presence yourself. I tried looking around/checking graves during the day and the night, when the Priest is not present. I could not find anything other than bats.

My question is: is there actually something that you can find related to that Priest of Grenth? Or am I wasting time?

(Also, speaking to the Engineer by Dalin’s Pumping Station, he mentions a nearby bandit stronghold. Is that in the next area? Past the level-8-or-so bandits?)

The Priest of Grenth is referring to this event:

and the Engineer is referring to this area:

(Also Grenth isn’t a necromancer, he is the God of Death (amongst other things).

Grenth is the God of death, undeath and ice. Most necromancers worship him, but also water elementalists that use a lot of ice.

There are also other graveyards in the game that have special things happen to them at night.

I think when he said “as he is a necromancer”, he was referring to his character.
