Q:Where's Zojja in the Living Story?
To my knowledge we have only seen Eir, Rytlock and Logan – and none of them except Logan had new voice acting, just on screen text. But please anyone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, my memory is not perfect.
We’ve seen Caithe too, in the Aetherpath of TA, and I believe they all had new VO- in the cases of Eir and Rytlock, it was in Braham’s and Rox’s instances.
To the OP: We didn’t see Caithe until October. It might just be that they haven’t seen a chance to work Zojja in. Personally, i would prefer they never did- it always felt a bit contrived the way they balanced things so all races could take an equal part.
I would say it has more to do with the fact that we haven’t really had a situation where adding Zojja would be logical without feeling forced.
Adding her for the sake of adding her is just silly after all.

Ahh sorry about missing Caithe – I had exams during that update and I still haven’t had the chance to run the new dungeon path >.>
Unless Scarlet puts a major obstacle in the way of Zojja, I don’t think she would get involved. Zojja seems like she would become obsessed with certain issues (Elder Dragons and preserving Snaff’s legacy) that have a higher priority over other problems. Also Scarlet involvement with the Thaumanova Reactor has probably yet to be made official to anyone outside of LA. Mark my words though if there is evidence of Scarlet continuing Kudu’s work (which abruptly ended in CoE) then Zojja will give her hell.
@FlamingFoxx: Eir and Rytlock had new voiceacting strings during the third update of Flame and Frost – Rytlock again in the fourth update too (not sure on Eir there).
It’s only Zojja we haven’t seen, and only mention of her we’ve gotten is that she’s in Rata Sum dealing with things there – likely to be dealing with the aftermath of Crucible of Eternity dungeon in which Zojja said she’d present the Arcane Council with her findings on Inquest research to make the latter lose the former’s good graces.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
I fully expect the Living Story to visit Rata Sum and Zoija before it is finished.
I’m sure that if players had the choice they would go right now to Zoija and tell her that Scarlet was helping the Inquest research draconic energy at the Thaumanova Reactor and it blew up because it was on magical ley lines. I’m sure Zoija would be interested. However we’ll presumably have to wait for for Kiel to realize she should do that instead, as that’s the way the living story works.
I’m not sure if Felicia Day is expensive, but I’m sure she has a very busy schedule though.
I’ll agree with what Sindex said. Zojja is probably focused on other issues at the moment. Not to mention, Rata Sum has been relatively untouched be Scarlet’s actions so far, so there wouldn’t be much to draw Zojja’s attention away from her current pet projects.
Also, if Scarlet ever got into a magitechnical engineering battle against Zojja, Zojja would probably curb stomp her. Scarlet has the numbers and surprise on her side, but Zojja would most likely be able to figure out how most of her stuff works just by looking at it. After that, it would be simple to develop counter measures against her weapons.
Where is Zojja? Why is not Destiny’s Edge not playing a prominent role in the Living Story chain of events? Why indeed?
It seems that they are already passed their use-by date after the events of our character’s Personal Story. I mean within Destiny’s Edge v.2(ex-Snaff) she is the technological maestro of the group. Within Guild Wars 2, this group is supreme driver of the story of Tyria.
Each member of Destiny’s Edge brings something unique, special to the whole. This is clearly seem in the Pre Guild Wars 2 book “Edge of Destiny”, as written by J. Robert King. This truth is further confirmed in the awe in which the group is referred to at the beginning of our Personal Stories, after their initial introduction.
I recommend people interested in them to read the book in order to properly place them in GW2 Lore.
@Nicholas: “Why is not Destiny’s Edge not playing a prominent role in the Living Story chain of events?”
Because they’re technically still not together, and because they have their own things to take care of. Remember, the Living Story is still in a limbo time-line-wise, and as far as I’ve seen it still isn’t 100% clear if the story takes place during, or after, the Personal and Dungeon stories.
Even without that, all the members aren’t free to tackle everything the Living Story has to throw at us. Like Konig stated, Zojja is still in the midst of discrediting the Inquest. This is also the case if you look at her actions during the Dungeon story, though it’s more directed towards finding Kudu. Eir is in retirement during the Dungeon story, but she is also on a mission to get the team back together. Post Dungeon story, it seems that Eir isn’t interested in anything outside of Hoelbrak, and keeping it safe from attacks by outside forces. Rytlock has a job, and that job is dealing with paperwork. He may have been able to step out for a small period of time to deal with his ex-team, but that still doesn’t mean that he can just go out and gallivant whenever he wants. He still has his position with in the Black Citadel to content with. Logan is in a similar position during the story, but post Dungeon Story, he made it clear that he won’t be returning to Divinity’s Reach until all the Dragons have been defeated… Though as we have seen from the Living Story, he’s still with Jenna, which makes it very hard to believe that he’s out hunting dragons.
The problem with that is that at the end of the personal story, DE is very clear in that they are staying together and turning to the next dragon. Logan outright says that he won’t be returning to Jennah until they’re dealt with.
Then the Living World turns around and spits in the face of that. ANet’s argument is that if the Living Story reflects the character development of those five, it would confuse players who hadn’t finished the personal story yet. Fine and well, but that means that they’ve also redacted the only real character development they had in the game, and in so doing wrecked most of the memorable characters who outlived Zhaitan.
“The problem with that is that at the end of the personal story, DE is very clear in that they are staying together and turning to the next dragon.”
It’s not a problem since new players are not at the end of the personal story. As the other poster said, Living Story time is ambiguous can be before, during, or after the personal story for different characters. Each story dungeon may or may not be completed.
And that’s a problem, because it throws any notion of a canon timeline right out the window.
Is Zojja so over-powered that she can’t appear in the story or is Felicia Day way to busy/expensive/can’t be bothered that she won’t play her? If it’s the former, everyone can contribute to the story in one way or another i.e. DC multi-verse, Marvel muti-verse and so on and so forth; and if it’s the latter even though I like her work in television, some video-games and a few web-series, she can be replaced like all actors.
I would love to see a logical place for her to turn up in the current Living Story.
People seem to want her to join for the sake of joining.
The Asura is not directly under attack by Scarlet, and thus their “champion” wouldn’t really bother too much with it.
It is of course possible that Zojja will get involved now that it is clear that Scarlet was involved in the Reactor Explosion, but before that, there would have been no reason for her to join in.
