Queen Jennah isn't real
Queen Jenna is actually Minister Caudecus in drag.
Apparently the lord of Ebonhawke is a descendant of king Doric/heir to the Ascalonian throne (And thus able to break the foefire as well).
Maybe he refers to that person. Maybe somebody else.
I think Jennah is pretty real. It looks like she is controlled by the shining blades for power reasons (and there is something with the royal blood aside from the foefire). From SoS we learn that the major intention of the shining blade is to secure the throne, independent from the current king/queen. They need a royal to hold power.
Afaik is Wade Samuelson related to Queen Jennah (and my favorite candidate for E). He is the current leader of Ebonhawke.
Another ascalonian royal that appears from time to time is the beloved Mad King Thorn and since last Halloween we know that he has a son, Edrick Thorn, which is prisoned below the black citadel.

A son whose existence was stricken from Krytan record. No one knew about him until he tried to break out of his box and into the world.
It could be possible a similar thing has happened and Jennah is not the last of the line? A brother or sister no one knows about?

That just makes it sound really sinister and possibly downright evil…
Unless it’s noted/pointed out they are doing this to try to prevent corrupt nobles in the ministry from getting major power.
@Horst: Thorn isn’t Ascalonian in the least. He’s pure Krytan. Edrick was under the Black Citadel because the box was stolen during its original transport and was eventually shipped to Nolani Academy for research, and was left there in the Academy’s reliquary. This was explained in the short story The Family Business.
The only Ascalonian royalty known to players is Duke Commander Wade Sammuelsson.
The only Krytan royalty known to players is Queen Jennah.
Edrick Thorn is dead so he’s not a viable royalty. :P And he had no (recorded) son.
Though it would be interesting if he got that woman he was supposedly woo’ing by burning villages had his child, and went unknown due to Oswald’s death and Edrick’s striking from official records.
@Kalavier: the exact wording is “The Shining Blade’s oath is to the throne… but it’s very specific. Her oath is to ensure that the royal line continues to rule. I’ve heard rumors that the Shining Blade doesn’t care who sits on the throne, so long as it is a descendant of Salma the Good. They ensure that Kryta and the line of Salma continue. Shining Blade can’t let Kryta fall to Orr…but they can support an alternate heir to the throne.” Said by Tenzin Mora, page 396
Doesn’t seem sinister or evil. Just fanatical to Salma’s lineage (which they’re called earlier) and to prevent another White Mantle situation.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Oh. okay. That seems better. The other wording seemed worse :P
Not much better. All it would take is a Minister corrupt enough and a few good scholars to track down a different heir to the throne. It will be interesting to see who that is.

A gold on it being Demmi Bettlestone. And of course, good Minister Caudecus has never had an idea of the “true” lineage of his family. Why, if this is true than it means there may be a viable reason for Queen Jennah to step down for a more . . . fair, experienced hand at ruling.
And Demmi would be such a more experienced leader of a nation then Jennah?

On the flip side, what if a equally morally upright individual contested Jennah’s right to rule with no other motive but to strengthen humanity? That would be even more interesting than another Caudecus plot. Good vs good instead of good vs evil.

No, Caudecus. Or at least as he might sell it.
Only if you idiots would have voted Rytlock. All this would have been prevented. He was warning us! Ms. Jennah just ran from battle into her pot of gold.
Haha, no my posts are not some “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain” diversion. By all means, this is an interesting discussion. Although I think the evidence that Queen Jennah being real is fairly well established, I actually do enjoy reading the theories about her being nothing more than an illusion in the same way I’m fascinated by web pages which describe how we never landed on the moon, or that 9/11 was a cleverly orchestrated government plot. :-P
I too have argued that we need a “hide footwear” option on characters, but to no avail. We got the option to hide gloves/gauntlets not that long ago, and that was in response to a bug that was needed to be fixed. hint
This is kinda funny now that you guys are planning on doing this, along with the Lazarus = Balthazar twist.
