I’m not sure if this is the new designated slot for the Lore forum in the grand list, but I’m feeling like this is a questionable decision.

The lore forum is here to provide discussion about lore topics, but also to answer questions that people have about the lore. Given the emphasis of story/lore elements in the Living World, placing this forum so far down the list prompts a feeling of disconnect.

Further, our placement among the Race discussions feels inappropriate. A quick glance at the race forums shows that most of the discussions there are about racial armor set combinations, game models, and mechanics of racial abilities.

It felt much more appropriate to include this forum within the ‘game discussion’ category.

Sorry, I wish I could articulate this better than ‘it just feels wrong.’ I think there is a meaningful difference between the previous location and where the forum is located now.

I thought something looked different with the forum placement.

It might be that this forum subject is less popular than others i am not sure. 100% agree on the Race issue though, maybe if they made a sub section for general lore for each race, but looking at it right now shows no reason for it to be under the lore category.

I agree. This is a poor move. It was much better where it was. It is bad enough that lore from GW1 was hugely ignored in GW2, but are they trying to gank it in the forums too? Bad form. Poor choice forum admins.

I think it’d be more accurate to say they tried to roll the races into us rather than us into the races, but I agree. There’s really only one post in twenty on those forums that qualifies as “lore discussion”. Still, I don’t think that it’ll do much to discourage traffic. There’s a whole category for us now, and on top of that, we’ve never been the most friendly sub-forum for someone to stumble into anyway.

Agree with Aaron. And the proximity may encourage more lore oriented discussion in the race forums.

I actually think it’s beneficial
Like Aaron has pointed out it seems as though the intention is more to bring the Race discussions more in line with the Lore – Hence the section title of “Lore and Story”.

Also it’s position lower down on the site means there is less chance of people stumbling in here and posting things that really don’t belong.

take it this way – lore has it´s own section now and could indeed fire up some race-centered lore discussion in there…but I have to agree about the positioning, it´s way too far from the beginning… so much scrooling

I’m gonna toss my hat into the “it feels weird” boat with where the lore forum got moved. Those race forums are seldom about lore, and I doubt slapping “Lore Discussion” over them will change that. I feel this forum is better kept under the Game Discussion, even if the move is only by a few pixels on the screen.

But I can get OCD and I’d even move the Living World forums into the Game Discussion section.
