Q:

for all you charrlore experts out there. I’m planning my Charr Revenant. And i have a couple of questions, that i’d love to have answered.

- what’s the name of the Charr player character’s warband, is it “Steel”?

- When does your character get promoted to Centurion?

-Do you retain your rank and position in the Charr hierachy when you join the orders?

-what’s the best sparring partner?

-What’s the best charr’s father?

i’l be happy with any response to any of these questions.

7800 hours ingame, and counting.

A:

1. Urvan Steelbane is the name of the legionnaire in charge of the players warband if you choose to be part of the Blood Legion, however if you choose Ash or Iron, the name of your legionnaire will be different. Either Howl the Brazen or well we never get to know the name of Iron legionnaire it seems (atleast the wiki says so, I never made an Iron charr myself). So judging by that if anything “Steel” would just be the name of your warband if you are in the Blood Legion. However, keep in mind that the warband names can also be used for the second part of the name, so the Blood Legion warband might as well be the “Bane” warband. Still that says nothing about the Ash and Iron warbands, though it could technically be the same.

2. I think it’s after the “Sins of the Father” questlines, if I remember correctly.

3. In the case of our characters, yes. We are supposed to be an official envoy from the legions to the Orders. However I think there are also Charr who leave their legions to be part of the orders, as the thing the player character does is not usual procedure (yet). Again correct if I’m wrong here, it’s been a while since I played those storylines.

4. Dinky.

5. I liked the Sorcerous Shaman the most, but the other two are also good. If you can’t decide, pick at random, you wont be disappointed.

You don’t win friends with salad! Sorry I just got caught up in the rhythm.

1. What Buddha said. My Iron charr also had Howl as legionnaire, so in those cases you’re free to make it whatever you like.

2. It’s an offscreen promotion that happens between the 20 and 30 story chunks, which can be weird. I get it for the sorcerous shaman storyline, but my charr had just finished committing treason at that point (won’t spoil more than that).

3. Yes. We’re just on detached duty. In theory we can return (or be called back) at any time and pick up where we left off.

4. I’m most fond of Reeva, personally.

5. Tossing my vote to Sorcerous Shaman too, and I’d also say that I found the Loyal Soldier to be bland and maybe a bit out of place. Honorless Gladium can be hit or miss- the story is good, but the writing has some weird holes.

R.I.P., Old Man of Auld Red Wharf. Gone but never forgotten.

All father storylines are exceptionally good for this game. Shaman is probably most interesting one, followed by Gladium for me.
