It’s going to be funny/horrible when Mordremoth and Lord Vanquish get into a twitter feud….

Entertaining yes. Would have been nice if there’d been a link on the official site to alert players to its existance. I’m too busy following reddit, twitch tv and dulfy just to keep up with the current story (if any).

How do you know that it’s a dev account? (Not saying it isn’t, just curious).

I’d like to get some confirmation from a dev that they are actually running those accounts. Otherwise, a lot of what is posted in those are pure speculation. There is a hole between LA and Kessex? Why mention that? Are we looking at a closer future with the tengu? More talk about Scarlett being his minion? There is a lot going on in that twitter feed…

Good to know. Least now we can look at them as entertainment and not actual facts about lore or hints about future content.

I’m surprised how easily convinced people are about these (imo obviously) fake accounts. These things have been done since at least Corporal Bane.

Makes me tempted to troll with a fake Twitter account myself…

I’ve read these account have posted pictures of things in game pre-release, that’s pretty convincing.

It does however seem quite legit when they 1: are followed by several ArenaNet employees and 2: posts images before they are available anywhere else.

Why would Anet employees following them make them seem legitimate? My first assumption would be that said employees are following the accounts because they find them humorous, not because they have something to do with them.

As to posting content before it’s in game – we’d need specific examples to actually say anything about that wouldn’t we?

And whether or not it was possibly obtained from media sites.

Or if the makers of the twitters are from such media sites.

I just followed the tweets for entertainment.

Also: I believe there are people who get to test content before it comes out, may very well be these people who leak those pictures. Also, not all pictures are real, I suspect some of them to be photoshopped.

If those Twitter accounts aren’t being run by ANet or ANet affiliated staff, GW2 should be happy for the extra publicity. XD

Regardless, I think the account is a novel way for players to interact with the game. Players don’t normally get a tailored response when fighting a villain, and this is particularly interesting way to make a story seem more engaging.

That’s a relieve, just think of the lore implications if Mordy was not only full articulate (something of an oddity amongst ED) but also able to use twitter.
