Reading the penultimate paragraph.

“Ominously, Medina warned us that the karka were actually only in the game because they’d been driven from their deep-sea homes by an even larger, more powerful threat. What could be powerful enough to drive out an entire race of level 80 creatures? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.”

Sounds like a certain Elder Dragon is going to make an appearance/be indirectly revealed, either this event or shortly after. Also if this has been noted etc then EXCUSE ME. And props to this article for being the best written regarding the LA event itself.

There’s pretty much no doubt this update is DSD related
However, I very highly doubt any bit of it will reveal/make aware the prescence to in-game characters. Only the aquatic races know of DSD, and to land dwellers there’s just a sudden influx of Karka. So while we obviously can tell that DSD is doing some stuff, the in game characters are probably confused as heck as to why the Karka appeared now

Im sure the Karka aren’t related to the Dragon. Neither is the event. I spoke too soon, I just read “the Karka were pushed out of the sea by something bigger and more powerful”, That can only be 1 thing.

Well, the Karka, like the quaggan, krait, and largos have been pushed out because of the DSD, AND Lionguard Keil(sp?) says that the lionguard are searching for the reasons behind the Karka incursion. And what is the reasoning again???

The investigation ends with the karka having been instigated by exploration efforts on Southsun Cove performed by the Consortium. The idiot that is Canach began investigating the plant-life there and that riled up the karka, and then when the Consortium fled, the karka followed.

But for the reason the karka are on Southsun Cove in the first place? That is likely the DSD’s fault. Especially given Zommoros’ line about the karka having not been on land since the world was emptier – indicating since a previous Elder Dragon rise, which means the karka may have a habit in their history of surfacing when the DSD awakes.

Well it would make sense that a race like that would surface during dragon risings. I mean no one is safe, per say.
