Remember the burial of another brave norn?
Malyck… always wandered what happened to that, just one of the many loose ends in a story full of plotholes.
Shame because the potential is there, yet not put to good ends. I love the game and the context, but in terms of quality of story telling it remains lacking ^^

That’s why my friend and i make story for ourselves. Tyria contains a lot of excellent settings which i had hardly seen in other fantasy works. It’s pity that the we couldn’t have it to dig more. And the speed of update became more and more….sad……I know it’s hard for a game to deliver a story like movies or books, but i just can’t help looking forward to this.

If I had a say in the matter then yes, my Sylvari character would definitely go back to the Grove to check up on the Pale Tree and to bring the sad news about Trahearne. And as Sylvari actually seem to care about their dead (Riannoc…) and appreciate their deeds, the Commander would have a little speech. And then maybe put something at least at the home instance to commemorate the dead Marshal. And he would NOT consider some almost random Norn dearer than the Pale Tree and Mr. T.
And about plot holes, open ends etc. It almost seems it would be better to completely remove story from in-game and distribute it in a different way, be it books, blog posts, comic, whatever. No harm would be done to immersion, because how immersive it is when your toon grows more and more alien as the “story” progress, has no integrity and accumulates missing memories caused by poor implementation of story content to the game?

If I had to guess, I imagine this scene will come later. The only sylvari npc of note aside from Trahearne who also has strong ties to the Grove we currently have some serious trust issues with. I imagine there will be some heartfelt scene of forgiving Caithe, and that it will take place in the grove, and the Pale Tree will be a part of it. And mourning Trahearne’s passing would be a good draw to bring us there. Canach may admire Trahearne now, but it was from afar, and he’s not really the type to go running to mother as often as the firstborn do. Not to mention being tied to Countess Anise for the time being.
