I’ve just confirmed my character’s mouth moves when a legend speaks.
Is this/Will this be acknowledged in Revenant lore?
Might we have legends speak to us through Rytlock or will he just play the messenger?
I seem to recall it was described more as if they were living inside your head talking to you though revenant skills do show they can manifest in our world.

Dialogue without an NPC is always spoken by the PC. For example, in Battle of Kyhlo whenever you hear the person shouting “Catapult!” etc. it’s actually your PC, regardless of race or gender. This is done to not require an NPC shouting such, and to ensure all players hear it as any such NPC would be far away – or causing a dialogue box to appear in the walls/floors.

Since the revenant legend comments are the same as player characters’ voice when using certain skills, then it doesn’t surprise me that the PC’s mouth moves to it just as it would when a charr necromancer shouts “Come forth, my minion!” when using a minion skill.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

This kind of assumes there’s such a thing as "revenant lore". As it is, we have next to nothing and can even create one and progress through a story with no mention of them until Rytlock returns as the first one, after us... But that mess is in another thread already.

Tentatively, I’d like to say it’s because you and the legend you are channeling are in synch. Realistically it’s probably merely that the game engine is animating the PC’s mouth for a skill-effect line, just like "I can outrun a centaur", etc. due to them not being given special handling (I had thought the legend was talking to you inside your head, as well).
