I think if there is an award that goes to the horrible people of Guild Wars history it’s gotta go to Sabetha the Saboteur, everything about her encounter to the music down to the individual herself is absolutely horrifying, this crazy woman shook me more then all the other encounters as she is PURElY in on the White Mantle conspiracy stuff purely for the money, and she wields her flamethrower to like realistic levels of terrifying. Matthias is just a zombie-man and Xena is just a crazy cultist you’d expect them to be awful people but Sabetha? Truly shows you how depraved a human can be. It’s just a shame there isn’t more to her story for her and Narella truly stood out to me more so then any other antagonist.

I found Scarlet scarier, if only because she was an incredibly unpredictable genius. It also says a lot that she managed to make alliances between groups who despised or had little to do with each other and actually had a very damaging effect on Lion’s Arch….and awoke one of the greatest threats to Tyria much sooner than it would have awoken without her involvement.

Sabetha wasn’t that scary imho. She was in it just for profit. People would do ANYTHING to make money so nothing surprised me there.

What scared me the most during my time in GW2 is Bria for sure.

I’d probably agree with both Euthymias and Urosh, since scariest people to me seen in gw2 so far has been Scarlet and Bria. Though, for different reasons.

Scarlet, minus all the alliances, crazy giant drill ship, and the awakening of Mordy, was a genius, and the level of genius she had was scary. The scariest thing about her, for me, was usually one of the more downplayed accomplishments though, and that was the creations of the steam creatures. She created a race of intelligent self-replicating machines with their own unique technology (which includes stable portals for long distance travel). The steam creatures, if they were allowed to evolve under her watchful eye, could have turned out to be more of a threat than any of the petty alliance she made.

Bria, while not as threatening as Scarlet, is equally as scary since she is an unkillable necromancer of great skill that can easily hide the fact that she’s a ghost. She seems “content” to keep harvesting the souls of Charr cubs, but if she ever decides to venture out beyond her home to cause havoc; she could cause a great deal of it. Just imagine what would happen if she ever got into BC disguised as a regular human. She could cause a lot of death and destruction before being taken down, but she would only reform later to be able to do it all over again.

If we’re counting people we haven’t seen in gw2 yet, I’d probably go with Palawa Joko. He’s used as comic relief, but he’s got to be one of the most dangerous and scariest non-ED beings around at the moment. Like Bria, isn’t basically an unkillable necromancer, but his skills far, FAR, surpasses hers. He can command armies of undead, and he used them to be able to conquer all of Elona. Which in turns gives me ready access to more dead bodies to animate to grow his armies. And last but not least, the ultimate scariest detail about him? He learns from his mistakes. That’s something is usually isn’t present in more villains.

Was Sabetha really just a Merc or was she a White Mantle Operative under Disguise? The Way she speaks about “only the Worthy are taken into the Compound” and the Fact that she was the Mentor of Narella ( who was White Mantle, just read her Journal ) gives me the Impression that Sabetha was a White Mantle Operative who used the Bandit Cover to operate outside of the Stronghold.

Don’t forget that the Higher Ups of the Bandits are either taking their Orders from some White Mantle Guy or are White Mantle themselves, depending on how important the Task is.

See? I don’t find Scarlet that scary at all, I saw her as generic and her plans was MUAHAHAHA villain, I get that she organized a major terrorist strike against Lions Arch, but even then she was just a crazy snowflake while Sabetha was a REGULAR human being who learned how to mix flamethrower powder and use it to devastating effect, she straight up tries to torch you the entire time, while that horrifying soundtrack plays in the background – like, she gives zero kittens about burning you alive.

As for Bria I just find her to be super Edgy in the way that a Linkin’ Park song is.

Scariest being in GW, IMO, is The Fury. Why? One simple fact:

He’s the one who made the titans fought in GW1. Either directly or under his guidance.

For those who don’t know, titans are formed via rituals that utilize tormented souls – they’re basically advanced Gorsevals. One titan is dozens of souls, tormented and agonized over an extended period of time. And we fought hundreds.

This means that The Fury handled and tormented hundreds of thousands of souls, and sent them to kill all life on Tyria, in turn forcing us to kill them – the victims.

And if that wasn’t enough, The Fury was powerful, a general of both Dhuum (sadistic god of death) and Abaddon (insane god of knowledge), and was capable of transforming landscapes – he’s the reason why the Foundry of Failed Creations looks the way it does in GW1, with floating buildings, giant hands reaching through landscapes, upside down buckets of lava, etc.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I fear Arachnia (If she/IT is canon) the most. This line from the gw.dat describing Arachnia Plateau creeps me out big time:

A field of soft, leathery soil broken up into rolling plates, like the palm of one’s hand, or the underbelly of a spider. It gives only slightly when you walk on it, and makes a soft sighing noise.
