Just a thought that cropped up in my head while programming and I thought it would be an interesting lore discussion.

I’m a bit rusty on my Sylvari lore as I haven’t levelled my Sylvari character yet.. but as far as I’m aware the Sylvari have a common pool of knowledge and when a new Sylvari is born they already have a tiny understanding of the world through this pool.

If Scarlet actually saw all that she said she saw in the experiment.. what effect does that have on new Sylvari being born?

Practicly nothing new. Each sylvari can carry only a portion of what the Dream is (the knowledge about all that is Tyria), into their life after awakening.

Going with the metaphor of a pool, the pool got bigger, but each sylvari only has the same sized cup. The more tainted water in the pool (referring to the Nightmare here) the bigger the chance of the cup’s content (the sylvari’s mind) to be tainted as well.

If Scarlet still shares her experience with the Dream, new sylvari has a tiny bit more chance to understand engineering and the Dream/Eternal Alchemy/Whatever she actually saw. But the cup is still the same size. Much of it might not make much sense without understanding the bigger or whole picture of what she experienced.
