Q:
A fantasy of sci-fi cyborg implants grafted into the desiccated flesh of Guild Wars’ corpse.

Q:
Would you (ArenaNet writers) have included Scarlet in the Fall of Abaddon had Evon won the election?
I think we deserve to get a simple yes or no at this point.

And now my reasoning for the answer being yes:
We’ve learned from the new update that Scarlet’s interested in the Mists (an NPC mentions it in Jory’s camp). The Six came from the Mists, and Abaddon knows something fishy about that topic:
“Among them was Abaddon—once secret-keeper, now betrayer. How you have fallen from the glorious days of old. What passed beyond in the Mists, only you remember.”
- Orrian History Scrolls on The Six
Thaumanova had to be ruined by Scarlet (har-har) so her discovery about ley lines, magic, and whatnot could be connected into her story, all of which will eventually lead to the unveiling of her “master plan.” (Dwayna save us…)
I believe they would’ve literally forced Scarlet down on Abaddon’s throat, so her discovery about the Mists/magic/ley lines could be shown to the players without resorting to blog posts.
And actually, both events lead up to catastrophic changes in Tyria: Thaumanova goes Chernobyl on Metrica and chaos portals begin teleporting creatures all over the world. Abaddon’s fall vaporizes a sea and the epicenter begins to poison the coastline (the Desolation).
I’m beginning to think it’s very likely Scarlet would’ve appeared at the end, in the Temple of the Six Gods as it is being pulled into Torment, bragging “to have learned why Abaddon’s defeat will lead to the turning of a sea into desert among other things; because this place was built upon an intersection of two ley lines, and the impact of a god falling through earth into another realm will be like exploding a nuclear bomb in the ridge between two tectonic plates.” Or something similar.
And now a question to the readers:
Do you think they would’ve further damaged the lore of the gods with Scarlet, adding more acid-coated salt to the grievous wounds they had to suffer due to the “revelations” in Orr and that infamous interview (how humiliatingly they and their actions were downplayed)?

Unless it would have been clearly stated that Scarlet somehow hacked into the Mistlock Observatory systems to spy on our progress through the Abaddons Fall fractal, there would have been an uprising of lore-geeks with pitchforks, torches and hounds. She should have no place in that fractal in a material way. Im actually quite happy that Kiel won just because i would hate Abaddon’s lore being scarletized.
I find it extremely unlikely that Scarlet would have been present during the Fall of Abaddon.
The reason she was present during the Reactor explosion was simply due to the fact that she worked with the Inquest, which we knew long before the Fractal was released.
I doubt there wouldn’t be much difference in the amount of lore in between the two fractals. So, the FoA fractal would probably have as much lore as the Reactor. Which isn’t much. All we mostly got out of it was official in-game confirmation of ley lines, and that the Inquest helped (see: probably did most of the work) in finding them.
Also, it would be pretty easy to explain why she might be in the fractal as well. For the story mode anyway. Like lakdav said, the story mode could have centered around her breaking into Mistlock, and her studying the fractal before it was opened to the players and Evon.
If that would be considered “ruining god lore”, would be the personal opinion of the player. Though as I said earlier, there probably wouldn’t be much lore in that fractal to ruin.
I wanted Evon to win, just because the Fall of Abaddon Fractal Dungeon… that would have been so exciting and epic awesome!
OP, why do you think we deserve an answer to your question? What have we done to deserve it. If we wanted the question answered, we would have voted for it. The players said they didn’t want the info. We don’t deserve an answer.
Eww, it’s disgusting just thinking about it.
@Alga: Honestly, I doubt it. I mean, look at how buggy Thaumanova Fractal was. And how epic can a battle between six gods be when you try to cram it all within a ~30 minute instance? Personally, I didn’t vote for Evon (as much as Kiel) so as to not have the fall of Abaddon ruined by kitten work – which is what I consider all of the updates since Shadow of the Mad King to have been. Hell, even part of the original release of GW2 is kitten, and because they “didn’t have enough time” from what I recall (so much for “when it’s ready” eh?). ArenaNet’s developers been biting off far more than those who determine release schedules are allowing them to chew – and this has been so for quite some time now.
@Darc: Hardly, people didn’t vote for Evon for various reasons. Doesn’t mean that they didn’t want the info, let alone everyone didn’t, and it sure as hell doesn’t mean players wouldn’t want to know in retrospect whether Scarlet – who had no indication of being in either yet was in the one that won – would have shown up in the one that lost.
People who didn’t vote for Evon didn’t vote for him because of the characters, or the WP cost reduction (of which I’m thankful for given the massive amounts of waypointing that was done during the invasion events), because they were more interested in the Thaumanova (of which nothing was really known while we know a vast majority of the Fall of Abaddon), or because they were not wanting to see the Fall of Abaddon reduced from an epic imagination to a 30 minute-or-less instance run likely to be full of bugs. Just because they wanted these things does not mean they didn’t want to know about the Fall of Abaddon – they just wanted the other Fractal to be made more instead.
Thalador, for example if I recall correctly, voted for Kiel because of the first and last reason – the characters themselves, and not wanting to see the Fall of Abaddon event’s quality reduced.

How could the sylvari, Scarlet Briar, be in the Abaddon lore? Simple she couldn’t have been because the Sylvari race was born around 1300 AE (I say this because they were first seen along the Tarnished coast in 1302 AE).
Abaddon was imprisoned somewhere around 1 BE in the Realm of Torment, by the 5 other gods, after giving the races of Tyria magic (thus causing wars) and was killed 1076~ years later in 1075 AE by the Order of Whispers and Order of Sunspears. When his power upon being defeated threatened the destruction of Tyria, Kormir decided to absorb the power becoming the Goddess of Truth in the process.
Now we don’t exactly know what the “Fall of Abaddon” has a few possibilities, his imprisonment in the Realm of Torment by the 5 (6 if you want count the twins Ilya and Lyss as 2 separate gods or maybe it was just 1 god but bipolar? lol) gods, him failing to break free of his imprisonment, or his death.
The only thing that would make any sense to put Scarlet in any of this would for her to have been there would be to falsify the fractal data so she could place herself there.
I have no doubt whatsoever that Scarlet would have had access to some sort of time travel or pastwatch or something like that to have had an influence in the fall of Abaddon. ANet is determined to ram that poorly-written Mary Sue down our throats no matter what the players choose.
