Scarlets "master" speculation
Holy lack of punctuation batman.
You’ve got fact and speculation mixed together.
Yes, the sylvari are connected to the Dream of Dreams. Yes, they cannot control it.
No, we do not know that there are walls specifically within the sylvari mind. The “walls” mentioned are mentioned for all minds – asuran and sylvari are specific examples (however, the asura who went into the machine that Scarlet went into died). And these do not link to the “dark areas” of the Dream – supposedly they link to the Eternal Alchemy, but we really don’t know where they lead.
Yes, the machine “tore the walls down”. Though this is by far metaphorical, just to be clear.
Nothing says anything got access to Scarlet’s mind, let alone “a powerful old creature older than the dragons” – we have, in fact, absolutely NO idea who the “entity” is. All claims of who the entity is, is purely speculation. Most speculate it is Mordremoth, one of the Elder Dragons (the one who woke up), or a champion of Mordremoth.
And no, nothing says that waking Mordremoth was her end-goal, let alone not simply a means to an end for Scarlet.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Personally I’d prefer that the entity be something other than a dragon. Maybe some eldritch entity of sorts, that is pulling the strings behind the scene. I’d however prefer that the dragons aren’t his servants or slaves, essentially diminishing the EDs. I’d be fine if the entity created the EDs as an uncontrollable force of destruction, like how people can create atom bombs, and unleashed them unto the world of Tyria.
Lore wise no info as of yet.
this is ALL speculation/half truth(sorry for being unclear lol)
She wanted to set both entities against each other. If there was an elder dragon behind the veil and the Avatar of the Pale Tree on the other side, then she disliked both (and represents a third faction).
After recently reading what pops up if an Engineer interacted with the drill console:
“Anyone who managed to tap this energy and channel the magic into a repository would have a great deal of power at their disposal.”
I’m personally led to believe whatever was pushing it’s-way into Scarlet was not dragon-related. Rather the fracturing of the ley line was incidental (which still ties into A-net saying that Scarlet’s actions were not related to any dragons directly).
Someone that’s been in hiding. Say someone like Lazarus the Dire (who has a past of inhibiting other beings, although no precedent for the manner in which scarlet was this time). That’s still a pipe-dream but I cant’t help but look at the completed Spinal Blade back-piece and just wonder.

Ah could the spinal back piece be a subtle hint of Mursaat? I don’t know…
But I do like the possession theory, and Scarlet could simply be the result of what happens when something attempts to possess a sylvari. They’re dragon corruption immune, maybe their also a little immune against possession. Meaning her madness was the result of the very real battle between Ceara and Scarlet.
