So Rytlock...
Because they also need Magdaer, which is in the catacombs.
Pfft.
Logan is the one who should be apologizing.
Because as far as we know that is currently little more than a rumor. Im not sure Jennah would even have any idea what she was supposed to do if they handed her the sword. The rumor is pretty vague on details.
The other point is the rumor at least in some versions refers to needing a ‘true heir of Ascalon’s throne’. Jennah doesnt fit that criteria.
@Hyena: he does.
I may be wrong, but isn’t there someone in Ebonhawke who claims to be a descendant of Ascalonian royalty? Hopefully we actually see Ascalon (or at least Ebonhawke) ruled by someone who isn’t Queen Jennah.
Because it really isn’t that simple. Do you go up to your former friend and ask “hey, sorry about (insert tragic event), but I need $50 to go buy some stuff.”? probably not. emotional wounds take time to heal, and EOD (the book) shows just how much they trusted each other, and you know what they say: the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
You also have to consider that until a certain part of the story, Rytlock hates Logan with a fiery passion. When they finally get over that, they’re a little bit busy with other things to worry about the ghosts in Ascalon, which the Legions seem to be doing a fair enough job of holding back.
Also the Charr like being self reliant and probably wouldn’t put much faith into a magical solution and would rather have a technological one. Like the containment units being built in Diessa Plateau.
Spoiler for Catacombs.
They never really go into that do they? You fight your way through Catacombs kick all the ghosts collective kitten Eir gets the sword, thinks she knows someone that can reforge it and then it’s never mentioned again. I wonder if they’re saving that for an expansion or something.
@Shadow
ya it seems they are saving that part of the story for later. Maybe for when they add the part of the story of finding a way to end the curse of Ascalon.
There are several unfinished stories out there. The Norn blacksmith never gets over to actually forging the superweapon that can destroy Jormag, probably because Jormag’s defeat is likely to be introduced in an expansion.

As far as I understood the story there you actually use the “legendary” weapon that Beigarth crafted… It is, however, never shown what happens to that weapon afterwards!
