I know it existed before Scarlet’s invasion of Lion’s Arch, of course. I’d been in here several times. But didn’t there used to be fish in here? I distinctly remember either a giant shrimp or one of those juvenile armorfish, cus he always got in the way of my shots. And there’s no wildlife in here at all now.

And was the blackish purple miasma (see 2nd shot attached) that seems to be seeping out of the rock always there? I don’t recall noticing it before.

What even is the story on this place? How’d these ship carcasses end up inside a closed off cave anyway?

I think those purple miasma things are just weird bubbles. As for the fish, they probably swam away or died since the whole city is kinda being poisoned, including the waters. Ships are probably from the original sinking of LA way back with Zhaitan’s rise.

I think the purplish thing was always there. As for the wildlife, all the animals in LA are gone, regardless of how hard their section of the city had been hit. To be fair, I wouldn’t want to stick around when toxic krait could wander in at any time.

As for the ships, Tyria has a long, long history of shipwrecks in improbable locations. (anyone else kinda miss Scoundrel’s Rise?) It’s one of those things you end up not thinking too hard about.

LA’s sewer system seems to be built on old sea caves, that debris is probably placed there by the tsunamis caused by Zhaitan rising Orr.

The shipwrecks could also be from the Cataclysm. Remember that we had shipwrecks all the way inland in places like Scoundrel’s Rise

Which would be the approximate place of NE LA now.
