Sooo, why are the facets not dragons?
Maybe the took the form of Glint due to her presence there, and now with her gone for many years they have reverted to their “standard” form? ^^

I’d guess that it’s a case of lack of art resources given all the new models we have in this episode – and likely the next few too. They likely would have wanted a Glint-looking model rather than retexturing one of the other dragon’s.
Lore wise, Marjory and Kasmeer mention that the lair is decaying I think, so they appear like Icebrood/Jade Colossi because they’re fragmented facets.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Yeah, but Glint’s lair was a pretty big part of this update, definitely the one people freaked out when they saw, figure they would put more resources into that than random trash mobs we fight in the Silverwastes
They create the Four episodes in the same timeframe.
There may be something more that required enough resources that divert from this in episodes 6, 7 or even 8.

What the kitten are these crystal humanoid monsters?
They are supposed to be crystal dragons!
These facets were made by Ogden and MoP. They aren’t supposed to be crystal dragons, cuz it is mechanism made by dwarf and human, so facets could be whatever they wanted. Correct me if I’m wrong but I received it like whole actual mechanism inside of lair was made by them.

I kinda thought they’re names (like Distorted Facet of) was a good enough explanation.
I think it is because they do not want to give the appearance of a Glint-like Crystal Dragon away too soon.

Yeah I agree with you, the name says it all.
@Jordo also a likely factor is that the facets will almost certainly not be showing up again, whereas the new mordrem models can be used in all the rest of the “main” storyline to come, as well as remain as permanent parts of the Silverwastes, and possibly other maps to come. That’s a better return of investment than a single instance would be.
Unless they could use the model for Glint’s child.

My understanding is that the instance definitely takes place in the real Glint’s Lair. The hourglass is simply the portal to her lair. The other thing which implies (to me) that the lair is the real deal is when Ogden asks if the lair showed us the answer to a question. When we tell him it didn’t show us Ogden concludes it’s because we aren’t supposed to know yet. He didn’t know precisely what we did and didn’t see (and he knows more than we were told) but he suggests there was a kind of sentience to what is or isn’t seen in the lair. Bizarely it reminds me a lot of the sylvari’s Dream (a place that can show you visions of the past, present or future but it also selects what information an individual sees – the Pale Tree doesn’t, something else decided that Caithe dreams of fighting a dragon, that Trahearne dreams of cleansing Orr, that my sylvari dreams of a white stag while someone else’s sylvari dreams of the Shield of the Moon). We don’t know why some sylvari dream of great challenges while others dream of cooking (Angel suspiciously popped into the forums a while back suggesting we think about why sylvari have different dreams).
To get back on topic, a friend of mine suggested the reason the Facets don’t look like dragons any more is because Glint is dead. Without Glint to hold together the lair or maintain the shape of the Facets, they began to decay or lose their dragon-like shape (it’s hard to tell if the changes to the environment are also representative of this or if they are simply the result of interpreting the same thing in a new game).
I guess we technically don’t know if Glimmer is still alive, but was definitely alive at the end of GW1.
Or if Glimmer succumbed to Kralkk’s corruption and wasn’t free like her mum.
She could have taken over if she wasn’t corrupted, right?
