Spirits of the Wild and the Dragons
no if they get eaten by a dragon they are forever gone that you can see in hoalbrak
in the shrine of lost spirit it writed (This shrine is dedicated to Owl, who was devoured by Jormag. Although Spirits have been missing before, Owl has been destroyed forever.)
if they are connected to dragons hard to tell but not ina good way becuse they led the norn away from the dragon
the last one is hard but i guess they are a littel in the middel becuse they can go trought the mist but the weaker live on Tyria but they have always be connected by tyria if they dont die

I know spirits can be destroyed if a dragon gets to them (RIP Dolyak), but what I’m curious about is if the Spirits can avoid the dragons indefinitely. The four spirits who held back Jormag were willing sacrifices; can the Spirits eventually be consumed by the dragons even if they don’t choose to expose themselves?
Of the Spirits who fought Jormag, only Owl has been killed, and if I remember well, there is some hint that it could be reborn again. But Minotaur has survived and returned to the Norns.
As for what they are… We don’t really know. Are they older than the Gods ? Are they under the domain of Melandru, as this preacher in Hoelbrak believe ? What we know is that they have ties to the Mists and can give one individual at a time the possibility to enter the Mists physically and bring some people with them.
@Valnir: Minotaur didn’t fight Jormag. You’re thinking of Ox (aka Dolyak).
@OP: We don’t really know the origins of the Spirits of the Wild. But if we look at the kodan belief and other nature and animal based spirits (Zhu Hanuku, Urgoz, potentially Ameyalli and Zintl), it becomes possible that these all are of the same kind of being and originate from Tyria, not the Mists, but do have ties to the Mists; but age becomes unknown (the kodan would place them as the earliest things on Tyria).
Alternatively, the notion that they are from other worlds – like the Six Gods were – isn’t improbable.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
My bad. I had done the PS about the Minotaur a long time ago and I somehow fused him with the Ox/Dolyak Spirit.
It is speculated that a creature of light defeats the elder dragons(A hint to how the story ends topic) maybe that’s these spirits of the wild. Dunno. As for owl, maybe when a spirit is “killed” it really just gets pushed deeper into the mists.
Plot Twist: Elder Dragons are massive robots created by the Black Lion Trading Company.
Think of the money they make off weapons and armor…
