So now we have an unhatched dragon’s egg supercharged with magic. It would seem to me, that the inquest would be very interested in this. Will season three be about this?

Not sure. A hatched dragon is a far far cry from a Elder Dragon though, and now with 2 dragons down… wait did Mordy actually die? I think we only killed his mind, his conciousness, but his ‘body’ is still biologically alive. So does that mean he will still absorb magic and keep the balance?

I don’t think the inquest would want the egg to ever hatch. I think they would want the egg as a source of energy. Remember the central transfer chamber was located on top of Primordius.

i really hope the HoT history content doesnt end there and somehow too more deep when raids release, because tbh that abrupt ending cinematic was really dissapointing. like if personal story would end right after Zaithan fell to the abyss and we were sent to the open world just like that

While the Inquest is dangerous, I don’t think it’s on the level of an Elder Dragon’s forces. With Mordy out of the way, Tarir’s defences should be more than up to keeping the Inquest at bay.

My thought at the end there comes back to an idea I had before it was revealed that the legacy definitely was an egg. Mordremoth shifting into Trahearne demonstrates that it is within the power of an Elder Dragon to preserve their consciousness by moving into a new host, and Ogden observes that Glint was “well on her way” to achieving Elder Dragon status herself. What if the reason why this egg is particularly important is because Glint placed a seed of her own consciousness into the egg, similar to how Mordremoth tried planting a seed of its consciousness into Trahearne?

To those who think Scarlet hate means she’s succeeded as a villain:
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.

Actually drax, the egg is said to be just a piece of the legacy which is a long term plan with many steps. This is said on the panels throughout Tarir, which are part of the achievement A Study in Gold.

But the idea of Glint returning in the form of the egg hatching wouldn’t be too surprising, especially after they recorded Glint’s voice for the Herald and made such a huge deal (and yet not) about Rytlock using herald skills.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I really have a feeling that they saved most of the interesting lore for Raids and the future LS, and HoT’s PS was basically just there to get rid of Mordremoth, introduce new areas and groups, and set up the ground work for everything else. Because other than Mordremoth’s mind getting killed at the end, all I really saw was a bunch of loose plot threads for future stuff.

As for the future, I’m wondering if the bandits/WM might go after Glint’s egg. They seemed to have some sort of presence in the future from what little we got from the beta raid, and the egg would be an excellent target now that it contains a large portion of Mordremoth’s power.

…Maybe Lazarus or random WM mook would want it to try and ascent into god/higher being status?

~crosses fingers~

I’d agree if not for the fact that ANet’s been setting up plot threads and then never developing them since Eye of the North.

You mean since Prophecies. Just far more obviously since Eye of the North.

Yeah, the story was narrow but that’s what ANet was going for, the feeling of us being in danger, having to hurry to rescue our comrades, having to push forward since every second counts.
However the slower pace of LS would be perfect to explore some of these lose plot threads. Granted there’s so many directions we can go into I’m not exactly sure how it will go. If it was me I’d spend S3 exploring these plot threads and then when most of it has been wrapped up I’d use S4 as a build up for the next expansion. Else if they use S3 to lead into the next expansion then it seems like a lot of these plot threads will not get resolved or will be resolved with throw away sentences here and there, and not the necessary depth.

You mean since Prophecies. Just far more obviously since Eye of the North.

There isn’t perhaps someone who was crazy enough to compile a lot of these plot threads?
