Long ago there was a monk strike in GW1. Basically a lot of the monks refused to group with folks for whatever reason they had at the time, I honestly cannot recall the reason. Anyway, during the Dragon’s Reach Part 1 when you attempt to cleanse the foefire you need to allow 3 ascalonian menders, or healers, to buff the statue and then dodge the strike. Do you folks think anet named the achievement Strikes Over in reference to the monk strike of Gw1? I wasn’t sure if this should be posted here or over in living world, but as it connects to an event I think many will remember I thought it may fit better here. Anyone that remembers the monk strike from GW1 please share your thoughts. Thanks.

Possibly. There are probably a few references like that. There’s a reference to the 55 monk farming build around the area where Bergen Hotsprings used to be. There’s a tree with an “55M” carved into the side. At least, it’s most likely a reference, as it is in the right area and everything.

If I remember correctly it had to do with the fact that monks were always blamed for failure and never praised for succes.

I’ve never seen this, next time I’m on I’ll have to look for it.
