Are there any other examples of Sylvari being able to root themselves, or is their elite skill ‘Take Root’ an oversight in character design?

They’re able to manipulate plants via their magic. The elite skill – just like the turrets – are probably an offshoot of this concept.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
