Sylvari with Volcanus. How??
same can be said of a human with Volcanus. :s
Word of Dev is that sylvari aren’t inherently any more flammable than a human- and when you think about it, it makes sense. Have you ever tried to start a fire with hale, green plant matter? It’s quite the vexing exercise.
Now, as to how humans are able to walk around with a burning chunk of white-hot rock pressed into their back- your guess is as good as mine. Charr are even worse. Their fur would be more flammable than any sylvari.

Didn’t you know? After overthrowing the Flame Legion, the other Legions all added a special flame kittenant shampoo and conditioner treatment regime to their schedule. It’s how they all added that extra body and shiny to their fur coats.
Magic. xD

I think the flame citadel armor/fire gemstore armors actually turn the Charr’s tail into a solid fire stick :P
But yes, the point made by OP fits to all races, not Sylvari. Same with the Mjolnir hammer, how do they have a hammer of pure electricity on their back with no ill effects?
MAGIC! Or, for those that get it. “Enchantment!”
Enchantment? Enchantment!

Here you can learn about fire resistant plants and how to landscape with them. :-D

Sergeant Atirrah: Should I keep an eye on him?
Sergeant Meppsi: No need. Khades is capable of handling all manner of flaming objects. Sylvari aren’t kindling, you know.
You would think Anet adding that sylvari don’t burn easily to a major event that was a focus in the Living World would result in people, y’know, learning that sylvari don’t burn like kindling.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Many don’t bother reading the dialogues of events, even if shoved right in their faces.
Many don’t even bother reading the instructions of events. Take the Wyvern Patriarch and his shield-phase for example. The instruction clearly states to drop the Wyvern Eggs on the shield, yet many still ask what they’re supposed to be doing because plain damage doesn’t remove the shield.
Other than that, not everyone has been in Tyria long enough to experience these dialogues even post-Living World. ^^

healthy plants and trees are full of liquid what makes them pretty hard to set on fire
I wonder how many people in this thread have even tried building a fire. It’s actually not as easy as you might think.
I have, and it actually is if you have the right wood and place it in a way for oxygen to flow through.
And you have a lighter.

So it’s easy if you have the right material and know what you’re doing.
Have you ever tried building a fire with other people helping who have no experience?
I’ve had everything from people trying to build a cooking fire entirely out of cardboard scraps to people packing clumps of soaking wet wood so close together there were no gaps at all (and assuring me the fire would dry the wood…) to people getting a tiny pile of kindling going and then dropping a log on it so the entire thing was smothered.
Which I believe is the point Wanderer was making. It’s easy for someone with the experience and/or common sense to do it correctly, it’s not as easy as many people think it is, which is pretty much “pile up any flammable material, apply lighter to any part of it for a couple of seconds, enjoy roaring fire just like in the movies”.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Hence why I typed, in bold, if.

When you burn wood and leaf matter you’re usually burning stuff that is dead and dry not healthy plants. I don’t think sylvari would be inherently more flammable than anything else. Hell they would probably be less flammable than a Charr who are covered in fur (and would then live up to their name)
