So today i was listening to my GW2 album that i bought from directsong.

At some point i was listening to a very interesting soundtrack (btw the whole album is amazing), i looked at the title of the song and it’s called “The Tengu Wall”

Now, the Tengu wall, is a wall built by the tengu around their “city” which is located in Kessex Hills in the left bottom corner. Noone besides the Tengu have been or seen the inside of the wall, they rarely come out, the 4 factions, North, South, East and West work together to overcome the problem of the dragons.

We actually do a quest where we help them deal with the Destroyers that are digging tunnels under the wall and trying to breach into the city, and this forces a few Tengu to leave the walls and go outside to attack the destroyers and collect cores to research and develop weapons.

The thing about their city, is that below the city is the Sea of Sorrows, now with recent events of dead whales in the shores of LA and other things happening, i did put all together and i believe the Tengu, will play a very important role in the new patch, they might be the driving force behind the story that will defeat bubbles.

Discuss.

that ahcievement has been there since launch, and it’s related to cultural armors collected
on topic, I think the Tengu won’t really do much in this update. I’m aiming towards Hylek being important, and the actual new area to be west of Sparkfly fen. However, someone pointed out an area east of the Grove that’s in the Sea of Sorrows, so that’s possibly in the realm of the Dominion of Winds.
But seeing as the signs depict (most likely) a crab, and the influx of crabs on LA shores, it’s probably more related to Hylek, or even Quaggan, who have more of a connection with crabs than Tengu

The only connection between a Quaggan and a crab it’s a fork, Quaggans eat crabs.

Not many sea animals can leave water, thats why we see crabs in the beaches.

It’s just a way of ANET showing that everything that can will leave the Sea of Sorrows.

So Bubbles is coming? BTW i stumbled upon something interesting on the GW2 wiki. Theres a boss in the Crucible of Eternity called Subject Alpha who uses skills called Teeth of Primordus, Tooth of Jormag and Teeth of Mordramoth. Could this be the deep sea dragons real name?

likely, but it could be named after any aspect that we dont know about. there is also speculation about a nature themed dragon, so mordramoth could be that dragon instead of bubbles.

Yeah, there are speculation about a sixth dragon but i do hope that bubbles is mordramoth.

If I remember right, the issue with the DSD being Mordramoth is that the attack uses earth damage as opposed to water damage, which seems to point away from Bubbles. This is at least what I have heard, having not been able to find a good group to play it with myself.

Back to the original topic of tengu…lol. Yes they are gonna play more of a role very soon I imagine, idk how many paid any attention, but during lost shores when you had to meet the nasty little asura in the sylvari area and beat him down for the map piece, there was an escort of tengu there, most said the default tengu responses, but one of them had something interesting to say. He mentioned his tengu escort were merely guards. Their emperor (yes they have an emperial society!) was ordering them to guard the asura while they constructed a gate into the dominion of winds. It was time, the emporer said, to go out into the world and initiate trade, because they had seen the benefit of it to their culture. He didn’t mention where this gate was being constructed, or much details about it, but it seems pretty clear to me, a tengu emergence is coming soon. The whole dominion might not be opened up, but tengu will definitely be coming out.

Uhm, Nay, you’re mistaking a few things.

Firstly, the tengu are guards for the trading post. Not Noll. Secondly, Noll had Consortium Guards, two of them – one human one norn – not tengu guards. Thirdly, the asura that’s supposed to be building the asura gate is not Noll, but the asura in the trading post who’s been there since launch.

I don’t recall any mention that the gate goes into the Dominion of Winds either, nor that the emperor is related to it. The only mention of the emperor I’ve ever seen there was that they are led by one.

The gate is meant to further trade into the Tanto Trading Post, little more. But the asura isn’t building it – instead, she (iirc, it’s a she) is studying the nearby skritt – building the gate was her end of the deal for being allowed to stay in the trading post to conduct her experiments on the skritt.

Unless something had changed after The Lost Shores content, the above is the situation.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I can confirm that Konig is correct. As for my prediction/speculations, I don’t think Tengu will be involved in anything huge for at least another year. We need to get used to the idea that they don’t involve themselves with outsiders (not just read up about it on a wiki), and if they start doing that soon, then it won’t be such a big deal as opposed to it happening much later.

I suspect Anet decided to keep the tengu lands separate and hidden so that they have the option of adding them in a future update, possibly as a playable race.

I think it would have given too much away if the tengu started with a major city and lands that would work as a starting area from launch, but it would also be pretty impossible to change an existing area to function as one later on. This way they’ve established that they’re there and given a perfectly valid lore reason why we can’t see it, but also left themselves the opportunity to let us in later if they want to.

Same reason there’s a bunch of asura gates being constructed in LA and the NPC won’t tell us where they’re going to lead. I suspect Anet knew they’d want more gates later on but haven’t yet decided where exactly they’ll go so they’ve left it a secret.

@Konig
I talked to those tengu nearly a dozen times and got guildies to come see it too, if I can find them again and take a screenshot I will. I promise that’s what that specific tengu said.

Well we know that Tengu were supposed to be the 6th playable race, but anet didn’t have time to do so on release. So this gives them more time to put more work into the race and storyline. I don’t think we will get anything big about them until a new campaign/expansion.
