The Death of Snaff.
The book is more or less the predecessor to the games dungeon story modes. Those story modes explains the aftermath of their splitting up.
Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Id just like to point out that if Snaff didn’t die all the elder dragons would be dead by now. The technology he built and utilized is still unrivaled today. T-T
Snaff 2016 make it happen
Asuran Engineer (Lost)
I don’t like the queen anymore.
Assassination of Jennah 2013! More likely to happen

That and the personal story until lvl 30. But you’d need to create a character for every race in order to see their separate story until they briefly rejoin at lvl 30 and then you can just do all the story mode dungeons.
you might want to do all story dungeons, in the order they’re unlocked:
Ascalonian Catacombs
Caudecus Manor
Twilight Arbor
Sorrow’s Embrace
Citadel of Flame
Honor of the Waves
Crucible of Eternity
Arah
not sure on HotW/CoE, but they’re interchangeable.
Okay, look. You know those players who are just so ridiculously stubborn that they’ll lie around forever instead of waypointing, even in the most remote or hazardous places, because someone might find and revive them?
His body might be gone, but you’ll never convince me some part of him isn’t still waiting out there. He did mentor Zojja, so he can’t have any shortage of patience…and with a mind like that, he’s probably not even bored.
So there’s no need to despair. Once that area opens up to players, someone will notice the “defeated ally” mark on their minimap and go get him. (I doubt the immediate area is as enemy-saturated as it was during the event.)

i know it’s not a serious post, but i’ll reply it seriously anyway.
defeated state is more like unconscious and less like “dead”. otherwise everyone in tyria would be immortal demigods that just need a little fondling every now and then.
I just think snaff is the biggest kitten and I really hope that isn’t the end of him because he truly was a great character in a book I read. Yeah that might sound lame but snaff will always be remembered by me if not anyone.

He may be gone but his legacy still live on.
The novels all have some pretty awesome Asura in them.
Sadly they died in the last few pages of the book too… Arenanet authors have something about Asura dying heroicly.
Assassination of Jennah 2013! More likely to happen
Isn’t Thackery emo enough? Do we really need to create a new evil from a former hero? We just got him back into Destiny’s Edge. I, for one, really don’t want to see another cliche former-good-guy-turned-evil-overlord-because-of-girlfriend’s-death.
fans hate Joffrey. They hate her the way Star Wars
fans hate Jar Jar Binks.”-not a direct quote, but still true.

Erm… Zojja cremated his remains… And places a jar of his ashes in his old lab… Not sure how you “revive” from that…

Shhh…don’t crush my dreams
On a slightly-related note, it was nice of them to follow up the Glint thing this year. I didn’t actually expect it.
Stormbluff Isle ( http://www.stormbluffisle.com )
After I read the book, definitely a shame.
Potentially awesome character is of course the one who dies, leaving behind five flat characters that are all so flat mainly because of his demise.
I say Snaff isn’t dead regardless of if I had seen it with my own eyes, because hes a freakish genius, and they always have a backup plan for their backup plan.
Perhaps some inter-dimensional contact with another Snaff from an almost identical world, or he could have pulled some serious watchknight skills and not gone at all.
Garbage at every profession 2015
What bothers me the most was that everyone did not fall in to protect sniff, all they had to do was hold off the hordes for just a few more seconds as Rytlock says…. but instead they left caithe to do it on her own? Big zojja was clearly cutting through these things like butter and you’re about to tell me she couldn’t have fallen back and helped? We’re talking about seconds!
This also makes me wonder why everyone blames Logan – sure he left but he had an oath to protect the queen and from the state ebonhawke was in, they surely could have used the help. Logan doesn’t deserve the heat really, if they adapted their plan to the circumstances and moved closer together when Rytlock ran I could see them having been successful.
The problem is, by moving in closer they would have lost the advantage of the choke points at the entryways. Thus each individual could have been much more easily surrounded and killed off. From what I can tell, it was just a moment of no one else hearing that Caithe had been overrun, and thus they were not able to fall back and assist in time. It was an all around bad situation, but strategy wise, I’m not sure there was a much better way.
I do hope for certain that when we eventually go into the Crystal Desert that we will have a chance to visit the old Lair of the Dragon and pay our respects to the BEST asura ever.
the whole dwarf race falling to just a dragons champion,
Nope, the dwarves started the Great Dwarf Ritual and turned into stone to fight the Primordus champion but most survived that part (the players killed the champion in the end of GW1) and kept fighting against the Elder Dragon since them, so they died against the Elder dragon and not against the champion.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I’m near page 200 and Snaff is not that lovable to me yet. I wonder when does he get interesting. He doesn’t respect himself and lets Zojja treat him like an old rag.
What I don’t get is, Snaff died before they nerfed waypoints, so why didn’t he just res and run back to help? :P

Because back then, the waypoints weren’t deployed yet. They’re quite recent.
Jokes aside I wish the waypoints didn’t exist at all. We should have resurrection shrines like GW1 and 2-4 asura portals in every map that could be accessed from lion’s arch and/or the main cities.
But since this isn’t going to happen, I’ll just stick with the current method.

Snaff died cause Logan took his personal teleporter which was their teams escape rout putting them against a wall. Snakitten invention is how we use waypoints now can teleport everywhere you already been.

because logan wasn’t around, and clearly the ancient god statues only respawned those that were with a human in the party.
Waypoints aren’t ancient god statues… unless you mean that’s what they used before the waypoints. That would make your comment completely logical, and mine, well, pointless. I think Snaff might’ve not brought exotics either, just kept the rare stats on his cultural armor. Maybe there wasn’t transmutation stones or something.
Snaff’s not dead, he’s just AFK, BRB.

i was referencing the GW1 spawn points. the ones you’d respawn at if your party wiped.

Not sure if you could run as fast as Logan though, he’s pretty good at that.
What if snaff had a copy of him self placed in the wizard tower in kessex hills, he might be the ’’wizard’’ that lives there. as snaff was a master of golemancy and mesmerism, he could easly have transfered his mind onto the golem of him self placed there, that might also explain the precence of the arcane eye.
I doubt that because the people that go to the tower don’t come back, and I think he would go back to tell Zojja. He doesn’t seem like he would just leave her.
hey guys I have a theory….
snaff was in dragon mind.
he planted his mind in very very deepness of that dragon mind.
his BODY was killed.
dragon seem to not have any activity.
for example Zhaitan was hunting artifacts, creating and sending armies to atack, corrupting things….
but Kralkatorrik?
except that branded are atacking everything that will cross the line of dragonbrand, some shaterrer-champions of him he seems to be very passive – have anybody ever seen branded outside the dragonbrand?
so theory is, that in the while of Snaff body dead his mind accidentally runned to the dragons brain, and in that little moment of his “disfocusing” dragon runned away, and by now he is trying and trying to get rid of “passenger” in the mind (ofc Snaff’s mind would never let him to do that, so that may take eternity :P)
so maybe when finding way to kill kralkatorrik, we will figure out that he is still there, and will use it for our favor?
(and maybe before dragon actually dies, but after striking the killing blow we will transfer his mind to… maybe golem for a start – this with the head )
