The Dragon Empire and the Elder Dragons
Bubbles will probably be the dragon for the Cantha expansion, just like Kralkatorrik will be for the Elona expansion, and Primordus and Jormag will be the Underground/Far North expansions (If they’re not one expansion)
There is alot of speculation tied to this. Note that in the original Guild Wars it was the home to one of the major dragons in game, Kunavaang (I think I spelt that right). Considering Glint (the major dragon in prophecies) turned out to be a champion of Kralkatorik alot of people expect Kunavaang to hold a similar history.
It can be hard to say though. Kunavaang was a Sea Spray dragon, known for their connection to luck. Also Kunavaang’s powers seem strongly tied to celestial forces rather than water based ones. Celestial stuff was a big thing in Factions. We cant even be sure Kunavaang was a dragon in the same sense as Glint.
Im hoping we do go back to Cantha somewhat soon. It was probably my favorate place in GW1. Its worth noting however that Jeff Grubb said that we wont always be fighting Dragons in content. Powala Joko is likely to play the role of a major enemy at some point. A good part of the Canthan expac to involve combating a tyrant emperor.
Bubbles is keeping its head low for now. Apart from a few hints the races of Tyria currently dont even know there is a deep sea dragon.
The DSD is most likely in the Unending Ocean – heavily implied to be in the deepest part of it which implies far from land. I doubt it’ll be near Cantha.
However, there is a sixth, unknown, dragon somewhere apparently. And with there having been deldrimor-looking relics in the Jade Sea (per Aurios Mines), this sixth one, whom I’d guess would have woken up either during the same time as Primordus (as he alone got pushed back), or will in 50 some years from now – thus no threat, may be in Cantha. That is, if it’s still alive.
Either way, I have minimal interest in Cantha.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Personally I would prefer if we learn about what some people call the “Celestial Dragon” in Cantha, but we don’t meet him until another expansion. It could be used as the main force driving our characters beyond Tyria and a nice mystery to be solve, perhaps the last piece necessary to defeat all the dragons at once and forever.
Meanwhile, being Cantha a natural Naval Power, the Deep Sea Dragon would be the main enemy of the Empire. I think the Guild Wars would benefit from having more down-to-earth villains and even antagonist other than the Elder Dragons. I’m not calling for the replacing the Dragons but more a change in POV.
Make a villains and antagonists who are genuinely sympathetic, even admirable, with clear goals but have to be stopped because their plan involve unacceptable sacrifices or are soo obsessed with the Dragons that they would do anything to stop them regardless of the cost and we have to stop them.
Bubbles will probably be the dragon for the Cantha expansion, just like Kralkatorrik will be for the Elona expansion, and Primordus and Jormag will be the Underground/Far North expansions (If they’re not one expansion)
I would agree with this.

In the original guildwars, we knew of two dragons: Glint and Kuunavang. At some point I would expect Kuunavang to be brought up. Maybe in connection with an elder dragon like the deep sea dragon.
I belive also as stated in other threads that the dragons are mechanical beings driven by magic as they eat it also i think the INquest has yet to play a HUGE role to play as you can see that hexagon with 6 kind of orbs , one representing water one ice one fire one crystal and one bones i think the INquest know alot more about dragons then any other society/order
My personal interest lies in how you will be able to return to Cantha in the first place, and the changes that the area have gone through. I mean with the push to remove all races from Cantha, I doubt their policy would change at all over 250 years. This being said there is an interesting dynamic where if you wish to enter the continent, you more than likely are forced to fight against the military of the empire. Even more interesting then would be how a human would be forced to recognize that they must fight against their own kind, and with humanity’s current home in Kryta always being so overrun with strife, finding another human territory that has survived and then having to fight against it would be a major struggle for the character.
