The Egg's destination theories

You know, there’s something to this. Ventari’s Refuge was located in the Ettin’s Back region, which is to the west of Dry Top. The GW2/GW1 map overlays I can find haven’t been updated with the new Silverwastes (which pretty apparently used to be the Silverwood) and Dry Top maps, but I think that’s the layout, and unless I miss my guess we haven’t found the site of Ventari’s old camp yet because it’s to the west of the currently explorable terrain.
Bloodstone Fen is also in currently nonexplorable terrain, pretty much due west of the Silverwastes, and so is Magus Falls, which is roughly southwest of Dry Top. It seems pretty likely that it’s those areas that will be opened up in Heart of Thorns, so if Caithe was heading west to try to find the descendants of Ventari’s tribe, then we’ll very likely be following her into those regions. My instincts say, by the way, that either Mordremoth is based in Magus Falls or the sylvari who are directly under his control (remember the earlier speculation about a second sylvari community in the Maguuma Wastes?) have their city there – that area has a circular pattern which looks like the base layout of most of the race home cities.
that_shaman’s overlay is updated. He puts Ventari’s refuge just off the western edge of southwestern Dry Top.
As for the circular area, didn’t that have a pretty significant chunk cut out of it? If there was a city there, we should have seen it.
My concern is for the cave that we opened, the Mordrem can now remove the seeds there and grow legions of fighters for Mordremoth.
I don’t know about you, but I didn’t see any seeds in there.

I didn’t see any seeds. Also, any tree that is growing will need 250 years to produce any fruit. We’ve got time.

That and we don’t have any real evidence that the the golden cave is the seed cave.
Good, I’m not the only one who thought this, but there is more.
Yes, the egg needs purified. But why? Glint stood no chance against her former master so there must be another reason. And its quite obvious when you think about it.
What happens to a dragon minion when its master dies? Yeah, they either stop being made, thus die out, like the undead are after zhaitan, or it could be different for each dragon. With mord, the sylvari may just shrivel and disappear. So, either the egg will hatch and take mord’s, place, saving the sylvari, or a purified egg will act as a seed, implant in the dragon, either turning it good, or into maybe a giant, non-sentient tree.
Make an omelete for the pale tree , strengthen her already mysterious power to resist the elder dragon, and to extend that power to named sylvari ( the others will die because we must have a shallow story). At this point i’m expecting anything to come out of a-net story department.
Edit: with bloodstone of course
Why do we need that egg?
I have a suspicion that the Egg will be used as part of a ritual to free the Sylvari from Mordremoth’s influence. Perhaps something in their physiology compels them to serve a Dragon, but it doesn’t say WHICH Dragon. If Glint’s child is born free-willed and free from Kralkatorrik’s corruption, then the Sylvari (and the Pale Tree) may be able to pledge their allegiance to it via a magical ritual which subverts the hold Mordremoth has over their race.
Why do we need that egg?
The Living Story so far has given us indication that Elder Dragons are a important part of the nature. Elder Dragons absorb magikittenil all the magic has been absorbed then they go to sleep and slowly release magikittenil they start running low, when they wake up and repeat the cycle. It’s been hinted at that having too much magic is a bad thing (well actually this goes back to GW1 lore were the Gods sealed away magic because it was too destructive). So the theory goes that if Elder Dragons don’t absorb all the magic then bad things (the exact nature of which is unknown) will follow.
The problem of course with Elder Dragons is that they’re inherently alien. They don’t think or feel or reason like humans or any of the other races do. They have no sympathy or remorse for their actions. This means that in the quest to consume magic Elder Dragons usually lay waste and destroy everything in their path. During the last cycle (i.e. when the Elder Dragons last awoke) they nearly wiped out the Elder Races (Jotun, Dwarves, Seers, Mursaat and Forgotten) who only survived by sealing away magic in the bloodstones and being hidden away by Glint.
Glint (over the thousands of years of her life) was slowly absorbing magic and was slowly positioning herself to become and Elder Dragon. Although unlike all the other Elder Dragons she actually had sympathy for the lesser races, meaning that if she had lived long enough she could have become a kind and friendly Elder Dragon, able to ensure the natural cycle of magic absorption without the destruction any mayhem that came with it. The theory is that she was planning on taking over from Kralky if they managed to kill him.
Now we get to why the egg might be needed. With Glint dead her child (i.e. the egg) might be our best hope to create a new friendly Elder Dragon. Granted this does leave several questions (how can a Baby Dragon replace a Elder Dragon?) but this seems to be the general line of reasoning.
Why exactly Caithe wants the egg no one knows. Unfortunately she hasn’t been particularly forthcoming about that. But the assumption is that Caithe isn’t evil, so she likely wants the egg to help the Pale Tree or the Sylvari or something like that.
I think she is taking the egg to Elona. To the Dasha Vestibule, to meet Uncle Shiny.
Seriously though, is there anything in the lore that tells us what happened to Shiny?
