The Grove - Quarantined?
First, this doesn’t really belong in the lore forum; it’s pure speculation.
Second… I will never understand why so many people enthusiastically want to replicate humanity’s worst mistakes and evils in their games. Let’s skip the internment camps, thank you. You realize there are people alive today, quite possibly even people playing this game, who were forced into one of those? (Yes, believe it or not, old folks can play vidya games too.)
It’s not material suitable for Guild Wars 2.
First, that’s like, your opinion. Furthermore, this forum is jam-packed with speculation. Without speculation, what the heck would there be to talk about here?
Example:
Hey, looks like the grass is green in this game world.
Yup, sure is.
Well, see ya later then.
Second, verisimilitude. We have war in this game, right? Blood being spilled at every turn? Right? But let’s keep it neat and clean for the kids, hey? Right. Also, maybe if more people were aware of those mistakes and evils, we wouldn’t keep on making them. And I’m probably older than you.
But you’re right, that sort of grim ‘realism’ probably isn’t suitable for a game where someone can call in air strikes that don’t wipe out everything in the target area. What was I thinking.
To be fair, qarinus, just a couple patches ago we discovered an ally we had worked together with tortured, experimented on, and murdered what amounted to children, or at least minors. Regardless of how uncomfortable it may be to see, it is ground ArenaNet have proven they’re willing to tread, and so it is fair game for speculation about where they might go in the future- especially seeing as the trailer on this subject hinted at what certainly appeared to be a lynch mob.
and let’s not forget that uncomfortable scene involving Faolain, Caithe and a tribe of peaceful centaurs…

Lol, yeah. Internment camps bad, non-stop murder and carnage okay? This kind of stuff happens, and you or any other oppressive government won’t stop artists from showing this on their works.
By the way, the camp approach simply works. It is NEEDED. They are tryng to KILL all of us. Weakness like yours would be Tyria’s downfall.
I doubt it. During season two the soundless were believed to be vulnerable to Mordremoth’s corruption, yet not a single point in season two did we go to the Weeping Isle to see if they were turned, or to warn them to return to the Pale Tree. We just ignored such an obvious threat.
