Been trying to read some wikis, and read some lore from NPCs and books, but I cant find anything of what happened prior to the dimer-anual rule of Palawa Joko.
He appeared one day, conquered three nations of Elona, and ruled for two years.
His undoing was outrunning his supplies, while being taunted by Ossa into a 1v1 battle, which he lost.
However, I cannot find anything (and there might not even be) on what happened before he marched into war with the four nations of elona.

So, while I have fantasies, ideas, or otherwise random thoughts on how he became a lich, or why he thinks he’s a legitimate ruler of elona, nothing’s fact, is there?
My personal thought is that he was a prince or a royal during the ages of the Primeval Kings. He didn’t have right to the throne because he was disowned, or not a firstborn, or whatever, so he dabbled in dark magic. As a result, he became immortal, and killed his entire generation in the plague which ended the primeval dynasty. Then he wakes back up ages later and claims what he things is now rightfully his.
Just a personal thought, mind you, no evidence of any kind.

Joko’s origins are still a mystery. The Scarab Plague is one theory, but that makes a nearly 400 year gap between him supposedly becoming a lich and his invasion into Elona – it would not take that long to build an army. And dialogue from Sahlahjar implies he came from the north (his normal dialogue talks about his deal making due to grey giants moving in from the north, while quest dialogue and outpost description tells us it was Joko’s armies from direction unstated that pressed him to making a deal), which would naturally be in the opposite direction of Istan where the Scarab Plague took place.

Maybe he needed 400 years, though, we dont know what magic be dabbled in. There are stories in other fantasy universes where someone claims great power, but then they have to recover, or repair their soul, and they wont even notice 100, 200 or 500 years have passed. Or maybe he was a victim of the scarab plague as well, revived later (by own design, or someone else’s).

But he came from the north? Yea, that makes since, the bone palace is there
