The "secret deep below"?
I’m no lore buff, but why is the Durmond Priory investigating this?
Don’t the orders strictly concentrate their efforts on fighting the elder dragons? Just seems odd they mentioned that…

That’s because the living story takes place before the pact was made. This to prevent spoilers for new players who haven’t played their personal story yet.
Was the voice supposed to be a character or just a really deep voice to get us pumped up because i don’t know anyone with a voice like that in gw2 so maybe a new person comes into the story? actually now that i think about it that wont happen.
Well they stated in the description that 3 headed jungle wurms are appearing and that a massive mechanical monstrosity (lol large watchwork knight) is going through lornars pass, if i recall weren’t there people speculating that she was trying to gather energy there? well they may be right.
I think ill leave the hyper speculating to the big people around here since im new at this but thanks for informing us!

Uh, what? Living story takes place after the personal story. Dragonbash was a celebration of zhaitan’s death.

No sir.
Dragon Bash is to symbolize the resistance to the Elder Dragons. It had nothing to do with Zhaitan.
Living story takes place after the personal story. It has been stated multiple times by devs. You can also see this because the living world takes place in 1327 AE and Zhaitan was defeated in 1326 AE if I remember correctly.
The orders only combined their effort to fight the elder dragons.
That does not mean they are not existing anymore. They are still working on their own. Not everyone is on the frontlines.
The Durmand Priory were scholars. They went everywhere to learn things of the past. So if she can get new information by investigating the things that happen there, it will only be beneficial for everyone.
I think technically the LS is supposed to take place any time, but for simplicity’s sake before the PS. Back to the question, I’m pretty sure the ‘secret deep below’ is just the wurm boss, since it is below the whole of the map and is a new ‘raid’ boss. For it’s origins, i honestly thought right away that it was connected to the Toxic Alliance. I don’t think it’s tied to Mordremoth (since the Great Jungle Wurm is possibly his).
The voice changes for every dang trailer, so at this point I haven’t even bothered with figuring out who it is speaking, I think it’s just dramatic now. The article did say a new asuran character would join the LS heroes (Kasmeer, Marjory, Rox, Braham), but I doubt that’s the voice we heard. As for Lornar’s Pass, the Durmand Priory is a strong magical presence, so Scarlet could probably be trying to siege it (given the size of her Marionette, it’s possible).
I think we should just not worry about the jungle wurm because its going to be permanent content which i believe doesn’t make it that important if we can keep killing it over and over again.
However I think that this boss is only a part of something bigger, something that is still unkown. It could have something to do with Mordremoth, but I doubt that.
It is possible, though I’m not sure how much.
Although you’ll need only to participate in fighting the Great Jungle Wurm in order to progress the story, there are plenty of new rewards awaiting those who manage to defeat it.
Either the Priory is trying to study all the Great Wurms, or there is a possible connection between the two.

The Living Story takes place “wherever the players are” in theory, but in practice it is post-invasion of Orr – there’s actually two references to the Pact in previous encounters already. With Tequatl Rising was a blatant response to the Pact invading Orr even for people who hadn’t made it yet, while the Aetherblades’ airships are stolen from the Pact. There’s also a comment long ago on the forums from Matthew Medina that The Lost Shores happened post-Zhaitan’s death (thus post-Personal Story).
Anyways, the Orders of Tyria are NOT focused solely on the Elder Dragons. That’s their main area of concern, but they focus elsewhere too. For example, the Vigil were helping out with the Molten Alliance – as were the Order of Whispers and Priory to lesser extent. All three Orders were also helping out at the Tower of Nightmares. They primarily focus on the Elder Dragons, but they fight any threat to the continent.

sigh No.
We’re now entering 1327 in the Living Story. Zhaitan was defeated in 1325 AE. The Lost Shores happened in 1325 AE and was confirmed to be post-Zhaitan. The Personal Story takes place fully within 1325 AE – over the first 3/4ths of the year, I believe, though it’s not really confirmed.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Except when it doesn’t… but we’ve tread the kerfuffle that is placing the Living Story chronologically before.
Well, aren’t there speculations that the Great Jungle Wurms might be minions of the Jungle Dragon?
That would definitely explain why the Priory is involved if it turns out to be true.

I hope the narrator was Mordremoth. That could salvage this insanity – somewhat.
A fantasy of sci-fi cyborg implants grafted into the desiccated flesh of Guild Wars’ corpse.
And another note on the Orders- they only collaborate in the Pact for strictly dragon-related business. Any agenda they may pursue that does not contribute to the defeat of the dragons (see: everything to do with the Living Story save Teq) is considered to be solely the problem of that given order. If the Priory doesn’t believe that the Wurm is related to Mordremoth (and there’s no reason why they should) then the Pact would not get involved.
