Infinite Coil Reactor* (aka Infinity Coil)
The Crucible of Eternity itself is the center of the Infinity Coil, located underground. But that’s nitpickery.
There are some interesting locations within the Infinite Coil Reactor, but you only got one screenshoted – aside from the six PoI’d zones and the center, there are small plazas within each “pie piece” in the hexagon – one being the entrance, another being the one I linked, and the most interesting one to me is between Zone Red and Zone Green – there’s a champion golem around a purple (iirc, floating) tree. iirc, between the others are other interesting things too. But the tree is what caught my attention the most.
Now I’m interested in finding what’s between the other zones and screenshotting.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

But you’re right. But I think we all know what we’re talking about.

I’ll get right to it tonight. We lack good screenshots of the whole place. And its rare that we get to take screenshots from such a good angle, without the player’s character obstructing the view.

Meant to post this earlier, this is the tree I meant.
BTW, the best trick to keeping your character out of screenshots: Grab a thief, trait into shadow mastery for the +1 second to stealth, slap on Shadow Refuge, Hide in Shadows, and Blinding Powder, and use them as you get into position, then do /sleep turn off UI and take your picture.
Though you can also just do /sleep if the angle’s good enough, and on asura makes it even easier.

^ or just stick your back against a wall for a forced first person view :P
as for the tree, it doesn’t look purple per se, it just looks like it because of the purple light. it’s more blue-ish than anything. it also seems like the inquest just felt like planting a bunch of normal plants on top of their floating cubes. why they’d do that is a whole other question.
The texture of the plant, I think, matches certain plants in the Dragonbrand.

Seems to me that the purpose of that areas might be to study corruption of the land done by Elder Dragons, posibbly to try and generate it, reverse it or general knowledge about how it functions.
Haven’t really seen the other areas, but I shall go take a look later tonight.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bubbles See the notes section. You are correct, sir.
About the floating trees and plants, if you enter Metrica province from Rata Sum and move just outside the small settlement you will see floating plants grown onto cubes just like the one in your picture.
