1. Are there only 2 books pertaining to GW lore? And if I were to buy both of them, what order do they go in?

2. Was it because of Queen Jennah that there is a peace treaty between humans and charr?

So far, two books. The third one is due next year, but no real date yet. Ghosts of Ascalon is the first one written, but happens after Edge of Destiny
Queen Jennah and the Vigil and Smodur the Unfliching all got together and were like ‘We need to stop fighting and focus on the dragon’. So, with the help of the Vigil, the Claw of Kahn-Ur was retrieved and given to Smodur/the Charr, as a peace symbol from the humans. This whole thing is explained much better in the book (Ghosts of Ascalon)

There are only two so far, but there will be a third one this summer.

Edge of Destiny takes place a few years before Ghosts of Ascalon, but they’re completely separate stories so it doesn’t make a huge difference which you read first.

2. Was it because of Queen Jennah that there is a peace treaty between humans and charr?

Not exclusively (other people on both sides played major parts in it too,) but she was very involved in making it happen.

1. Currently, yes. A third (Sea of Sorrows) is in the works though but not yet published. Chronologically: Sea of Sorrows —> Edge of Destiny —> Ghosts of Ascalon
Order of Release: Ghosts of Ascalon —> Edge of Destiny —> Sea of Sorrows

2. She played a role in getting it started by returning the Claw of the Khan-Ur, however the story of how it was recovered is told in Ghosts of Ascalon.

That’s weird to make prequels instead of sequels for the books…oh well, thanks everyone

They aren’t really prequels or sequels per se (except in the sense that they’re all set before the game itself) because the stories aren’t connected except for being set in Tyria. They’re just separate novels set in the same world, with different characters and plots that don’t link up except in the broadest sense of sharing lore. You can read them in any order and not miss anything, so publication order wouldn’t have mattered too much. They just fill different gaps in the lore.

Hope that makes things clearer.

Yes, they are.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
