Tyria is a globe- yes or not?
Yes,it is a globe,if you look at bothe side of the map you can see that the land are completing themselve (wetland).
Unending Ocean is a name not a description. Although the fact it loops round the entire planet prob lends credence to the name
I’d say it clearly is a globe. As Rhaegar notes, the Chantry has a globe of the world. There are also globes in libraries, Vigil HQ, and among the guild decorations. A sphere would be a darn strange way to make a map of a flat world; it would affect scale, for one thing, and why would flat-world inhabitants even begin to conceive of mapping it as round?
Ok. I see. Thank you, guys for infos!
I am very grateful.
And big thanks that you showed me the map I didn’t see this never before.
Tyrians believe it’s spherical, at the very least, with a solar system to boot.
Though the world map texture is a bit odd for such.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
That map is the result of clever and dedicated people finding it as carpeting in the Hidden Arcana instance and cleaning it up and translating the New Krytan lettering. So it’s canon from game resources.
It’s not just those old textures anymore. We also have proper, full-world globes in game now- the mechanisms in the guild hall that let you portal out to mission locations include two.
Technically those are the only proper globes – the others only reveal Tyria/Elona (and with differences from the world map and other map textures) or is the disfigured texture in the OoW.
There is, quite literally, only four globe models in the game – of Tyria. Unless one of those in DR’s Upper City can be identified as Tyria – but AFAIK, they’re all too undetailed to find any “Tyria” among them.
