mesmer magic which converses with realities building blocks and superficially chats with the simplest of its creations like light and dark. Linguists capable of understanding all languages in structure and syntax, but not fluent in more than one.
elementalist magic which converses with the elements. Think of them as polyglot but only in the romance languages. A culture of people who encourgage advanced comprehension in 4 languages, it simply isn’t possible for them to learn another a language from another family and still maintain the vast amount of comprehension they are expected to.
necromancy magic which is a pictorial language. As such is one of the oldest and most widely understood of languages. The language has evolved but still requires such sacrifice to give context. And there is no certainty that people you speak to with this language will have the capability or desire to express themselves the same way to you. It is the language preferred by the forces of darkness.
guardian magic which is a tonal language. The tones are so diverse that if you are flat of voice and do not care about what you are saying you cannot speak it effectively. It clearly establishes intent more so than any other language. It is so emotive that it can provoke action from holy light/fire. As such it is the preference of forces of light.
nature magic which is a dead language of an older and an ancient form. At some point people spoke it quite well. There has been a slow remastering of the language over the last years. Recently we have cause to believe native speakers of ancient nature magic have been found. As such the language exploded beyond its original crude collections of words and pictures from a previous era. The forces you speak with are not dumb, you will not be able to force them to act but the relationship had been strengthen now that you can partially speak their native tongue and converse enough to promote even further growth in the language. Sadly this discovery required a lot of people who weren’t used to this level of language, and only some have dedicated themselves to mastery. This is a language of spirits.
ritualist magic which was a dead language. Scrapped together from interactions with elders from the spirit world. It was almost like trying to crack an animal language. Finally though it was cracked and the results were astounding. Some ritualists convinced their new spirits to aid them willingly others compeled them. This is one language of spirits.
Thief magic is the simplified form of the family mesmer magic is in. Far less detailed but easier to produce syntactically when you want to say specific things. Similar to old english and modern english, they don’t not look the same at all except for some choice parts. This language allow for more communication with dark and light but less with ether.
revenant magic which is a sign language, you use your body to express it. It requires an energy to produce as the physical act of speaking it is more tiring than traditional languages. It is a language seen but not heard by non speakers. This language is the language by which one contacts the mists forcibly.
There are many that speak the common tongue but some are more charismatic than others. But there is no forces they speak with.
