This video covers parts of Tyria that might or might not be added to the game. I thought that you guys would enjoy this video since it leaves you with a lot to speculate about. It’s a fun video and even though the narrator doesn’t have any specific details about what hes showing you…he’s very knowledgeable in GW2 lore and makes the video entertaining to watch.

If I recall right, this globe is the one located in the Chantry of Secrets, the base of Order of Whispers. Order of Whispers maintained connection to Elona, which would explain the accuracy of the map in that region, and the inconsistencies in Cantha and other further areas.

I suspected it was the priory as did the guy in the video. Are you saying that the order of whispers made this map within that 30 year gap he was talking about?

I just went to check the globe in Chantry of Whispers, and the model looks to be same, but with “grooves” on it that display blue light from underneath, perhaps representing movements of Elder Dragons. Because of that, the distortion caused by the wrapping of the texture around a sphere, and the constant rotation of the globe in various directions, it’s hard to say if it the same map, though. However, the island chain with the “ring island” is present. But, because of all the distortion and clutter going on it, I can’t seem to find the known coastlines and landmasses.

So, back to the point, I would say it’s likely to have been created by the Order of Whispers, as they would have been the only ones getting reliable information from Elona after the kitten of River Elon.

EDIT: I checked the Reddit thread, the model is the same, the concept art is the loading screen for Chantry of Secrets, and while the texture is different, it shares points. The only thing lacking from evidence would be pulling the current texture from .dat and comparing them.
