Wait, wasn't Caudecus going.... (Spoilers)
Yes I feel like I missed something here too.
Janthir was closed. The moose out front should have told him.
Wasn’t Caudecus going to the Isles of Janthir? But then in this episode he’s just back at the most obvious place, his house? Idk, maybe I’m missing something here, but to me I feel like they rushed his death and all the excitement of him going to Janthir is just out the window now. Please tell me I missed something.
Not really, Janthir was mentioned, but it was only player speculation that led to some people believing Caudecus was there.
Caudecus in the end just turnt out to be a mockery of himself
I guess he had an errand to run during episode 3 and then he brought his posse down for episode 4.

Maybe the guy who imitated Lazarus went there. Our some goons of Xera

It was more than just player speculation. At the end of Crack in the Ice Rox says “Canach says it looks like [Caudecus’] making his way up to the Isles of Janthir.”

ah, you’re right, in my memory I had it as just ‘the mantle going there’ but if it was really caudecus. Maybe he was going in that direction but was stopped by something beyond his control, or returned because something was not right back here
Nothing actually says Caudecus was going there. Canach suspected he was. It was either a feint by Caudecus, Canach was wrong and the sentence added as a red herring, Caudecus did go there but came back for the siege (maybe that’s where he kept his army and bloodstones stashed – he had to had them hidden somewhere accessible by ship as shown by Stronghold of the Faithful, and somewhere not Bloodstone Fen or Forsaken Thicket, as shown by Salvation Pass), or Caudecus had to retreat back to the manor.
It’s pretty clear given the “personal dungeon” that we kill Caudecus in was there since release that it was planned for us to go there, and the team who made Ep4 had begun working on it four months before Ep3 was finished so it wasn’t some changed plan midway.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Well we’re pretty close in the new raid. I’m curious to see how much of the current area will be explorable. I’m loving the assets in the new raid though. The new architecture and kind of overgrown forest theme without it being a jungle. Would love to see more areas like this that aren’t allocated to just raids.
Honestly, I’d love to have an explorable version of these raid wings that just doesn’t have any mobs in it or something so people could walk around and see it. Many people don’t. I just saw the complete wing of Salvation Pass the other day making bloodstone bisque for Wisteria and it was unlike anything you see in the open area which is kind of sad.
