What are the Elder Dragons doing right now?
From my knowledge kralky is somewhere around the crystal desert doing who knows what but possibly still scared after DE nearly killed him…jormag is probably still slowly heading south or consuming Kodan and norn artifacts up north…primordus is somewhere underground constantly building more and more destroyers and slowly killing the dwarves…DSD is still in the unending ocean somewhere prob munching on krait artifacts but he’s possibly getting slightly closer to surface…mordemeth who the hell knows

I thought that Jormag was making snowmen for the Svanir, Primordus playing Bob the Builder with the destroyers underground, Kralky was making sand castles in the Crystal Desert, Deep Sea Dragon singing “Under the Sea” with his tentacled friends and Mordremoth well i don’t know doing the Tarzan thing on the Maguuma Jungles/Wastes.
A more important question could be why we defeated Zhaitan first and why now. He was the third to wake up. In the personal story it is told that we fight him first cause he was striking against Lion’s Arch. So why did he think he was ready for the fight before the others.
We can only guess, but my idea would be that with the dead orrian’s he could corupt to be risen, he felt ready for the battle before Primordus or Jormag where.
So I think the other ED’s are still building their influence up on the world
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
They’re getting caught up on all their favorite soap operas.
Primordus is devouring the old Asuran cities.
Jormag is corrupting and expanding its forces.
Kralky is scared and recovering in the Crystal Desert.
Bubbles is swimming around and probably trying to find a Bloodstone.
Mordy is awaking up.
As for why we don’t see more, they probably view time differently then us. A year to them probably passes in a blink of an eye.
Primordus has been fighting with dwarfs for about 200 years.
Jormag ferociously devours one quaggan village after another.
Kralkarorrik still cant get over the fact that asura almost beat him.
After DSD started watching a bit too much hentai all friends run from him and now Tyria is overcrowded with aqua races.
Mordremoth is leveling herbalism in WoW.
Seriously, read the wiki about dragons and how they don’t do anything for vast amounts of time. They should be called elder slowpokes.
I know the Elder Dragons are not supposed to be super intelligent, as they described them as forces of nature and destruction
They know everything the beings they corrupt know.
I’d say that makes them pretty kitten smart when they’ve corrupted many civilizations and living beings over thousands upon thousands of years. Primordus may be the least intelligent, since he seems unwanting to corrupt living beings.

He awoke in a land full of corpses with a lot of magical items. Was said outright by Trahearne in one of the personal story steps that Zhaitan took light of the world because he woke up with a nation at his feet already.
While the other Elder Dragons have had to build their strength and forces, Zhaitan basically woke up with breakfast in bed. Probably why he invaded north right after waking (during the novel Sea of Sorrows) too.
Plus he was much closer to civilization than any other Elder Dragon – Jormag and Kralkatorrik being next closest, and the former pushed the norn out of their homelands a few years after waking and is now steadily invading, while Kralkatorrik fled from being almost killed and hasn’t been heard from since for (now) 6 years.
Honestly speaking, I’m now expecting Jormag and Primordus to launch a simultaneous (by chance) assault – Primordus has had 200 years to build up a Destroyer army, and had all the asuran artifacts to consume at his leisure (well, except for dwarven interference), while Jormag has had the aid of the Sons of Svanir even before he woke up.

Mercury stop responding to Konig than seriously we all get you don’t like him, but as people have said in other threads he is having conversation and is allowed to do what he wants, as such you can post what you want too…but please stop turning these forums into high school drama

Honestly, I’m surprised that other people are surprised that we haven’t seen the other dragons. Bubbles almost certainly isn’t within our map of Tyria, Primordus, Jormag, and even Kralkatorrik may not be either, and we don’t even know if Mordremoth is awake yet. The world of Tyria is a very big place, and the continent of Tyria isn’t a particularly large portion of it.
The living story timeline isn’t mean to be fully integrated with the personal story timeline. A new player can do the aetherblades then the personal story, creating their own history and timeline as they do it. This means that the elder dragons are not doing anything different from what they were doing at the end of the personal story since that is near past, contemporary, and/or near future for players. Like Orr, the elder dragons are locked in time.
The two most obvious reasons to me would be that 1) Zhaitan was an urgent threat compared to the other dragons and 2) we actually knew where Zhaitan was. With the other dragons its ‘there vaguely over that way somewhere’.
The dragons have probably taken not of Zhaitan’s death but arent going to rush in. They are immortal beings and its going to take time to consume the world. For now they are probably building their strength and forces. While we have almost certainly now got there attention, I doubt they expected us to be a serious threat before Zhaitan went down.
The other side to this question ties into the question of what the EDs actually are and how they came to exist. Our understanding of their motivations is still rather limited.
While waiting for a group outside Sorrow’s Embrace there was a little dialog in the camp there I overheard where two norn priory scholars were discussing the EDs. One norn called them a force of nature, extreme but part of the world and said the real question was what was so out of whack with nature to cause it to manifest such destructive forces.
Now its obviously the opinions of a couple of NPCs but it got me thinking about it and clearly Arenanet has thought about it too. Until we know why the EDs exist, its hard to really know their nature and the essense of what drives them.
My ideas on it are that
kralkatorrik is recovering from its fight with destinys edge
mordremoth is still sleeping
primordus is building forces and fighting the dwarves (in which case we wouldnt see him until either he defeats the dwarves and comes up or we go down)
deep sea dragon has an entire ocean to mess with and we will mostly see its influence through the races who used to live down there
jormag is probably sexing it up with those norn females that never return from fighting it

This is solely a mechanical explanation and utterly ignores lore.
In the canonical lore timeline, The Lost Shores – and all of the Living Story – takes place after Zhaitan’s defeat. Halloween and Wintersday likely takes place canonically in the same order as the other content updates, which would mean Zhaitan→Thorn→Lost Shores→Tixx→Flame and Frost→Southsun Stuff→Dragon Bash and Aetherblades→Bazaar
In the lore timeline, several months have passed since Zhaitan’s defeat then, as NPCs stated that the Molten Alliance has been attacking for months during the third installment of Flame and Frost. This means there’s been several months where the Pact has been acting off-screen since Zhaitan’s defeat.

The pale tree is the 6th dragon, its minions the slyvarie….ventaris tablet leeked good into the growing dragon, and made it good, the slyvarie are innocent offshoots whilst the nightmare is the true form of the dragons minions…attempting to recorupt there master
chilling i am afraid
I’m not sure where it was said, but basically the dragons are incredibly powerful animals. Animals with God-level power, but animals all the same. I think of them as kind of like really hyperactive cats. They wake up and smash everything in your house for 5 minutes a day, and then go back to sleep for the other 23 hours 55 minutes. I think the reason we’re fighting so many dragon champs and so few dragons is because the dragons are still napping.
As to why Zhaitan was “ready for the battle” first.. was he? He kind of just died horribly the second we caught up with him in the last mission. He didn’t put up much of a fight at all.. and I think that’s because we got to him before he was ready for us.
The other dragons are not “napping” considering the norm have fought jormag directly, the Asura ran from primordus waking on their capital, DE fighting kralky and glint getting killed by him…the DSD is said to be awake but no real proof. Mordemeth is the only one that may still be asleep

This makes me wonder if they aren’t already attacking one another.
None of them are really in the same location in the globe. Jormag’s to the north, Kralaktorrik’s to the southeast as far as we know, Mordremoth (whom may be slumbering) may be to the west, Primordus could be… well, anywhere, and the Deep Sea Dragon is supposedly south somewhere. Zhaitan was in the middle.
