Guild Wars 2

One of my favorite parts of season one was the bar. I liked that Destiny’s Edge 2.0 had their own “spot” and it made sense to me that Majory had based her investigations out there. We visited several times over the course of season 1, and the bar was even decorated for last Wintersday! I realize that the story of season 2 didn’t lend itself as well to the investigations that we saw there in season 1, but I feel like we should have at least visited once! We were even in DR at one point! Do you guys expect we’ll ever go back and find out if Majory added curtains? Or with Heart of Thorns do you expect it to be all jungle all time time?

Yeah, I miss having story instances in the Dead End too. Always liked the noirish vibe of the place thanks to Marjory’s nice introduction from Season 1 and how we had that lovely Holmesian investigation scene with “A Study in Scarlet”.

I would like to see the bar get involved in the story somehow if possible but I’m not holding my breath. However, I will expect us to visit DR at some point in HoT if only to see Canach being attacked as shown in the HoT story trailer as part of the “Can we trust the sylvari anymore?” angle. Hopefully this means some way for Caudecus to make an appearance and have him and his lackeys in the Ministry to blame the sylvari problem on Jennah, considering we’ll likely be seeing some ties to White Mantle deeper in the Heart of Maguuma as hinted in LS Season 2 (the bandit fortress, mentions of “New Kryta”, and the relics with curious information in the Silverwastes) and because Caudecus is linked to White Mantle in some capacity based on human Personal Story.

Only problem I had with the Dead End bar is that, given the mechanics of the camera it always felt so claustrophobia. Might be better with first person camera though.

It became a dead end.

I don’t think it fits the story at the moment. In season one there was a lot of down time between major events and the characters needed a place to relax and process all of the events that had happened.

Season 2 was much more compact with critical world events happening one after another. The characters can’t stop to contemplate their next move when Mordremoth is trying to destroy the world. They have to get out there and get things done as soon as possible.
