If you were a GW1 player and did the linking stuff and came for your rewards, the npc will say stuff on how your character has the soul of your GW1 character. How did that even happen?

I don’t remember anything about anyone saying that since I started the game. I merely remember him saying, basically, that he has been guarding or protecting this stuff for a hero of the same caliber as the GW1 hero. I don’t know the exact dialogue, but I don’t remember souls being mentioned.

“They belonged to a hero who earned all these relics during their life. I’ve waited centuries for someone to come who embodies the same heroism. You are that person. I give it all to you.”

This is what was said. “someone who embodies the same heroism” – that’s far from the same soul or the like. It just means he was waiting for a great hero to show.
