Q:
Where does the Corn go?
There’s very little lore on what is eaten in the game – to the point of practically none beyond the odd event (which probably doesn’t even enter the double digets). The closest we’d get is, well, the chef crafting profession, but I wouldn’t take that very literally.
I’d presume that corn is a common food that the grand hero and ultra chef that is our PC doesn’t care about it.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
What I don’t understand is why we have so many complicated recipes combining foods that should never be together, but no one bothered to make pancakes. What kind of cruel world doesn’t have pancakes?!
Can you blame them? Pancakes would be an empty and desolate indulgence in a world with no maple syrup.
That’s a good point. We need both of those things.
And of course bacon! Tyria is a sad world where the only form of visible bacon is toxically cured…
Pancakes are you mad? You’re thinking to small we need to go bigger I and by that I mean when need tasty waffles with the magic power of the waffles we will have the strength to defeat the elder dragons, but we need to be careful if they get the waffles first the power of in the ley lines will be nothing compared to the magic they will consume from them
When i read this topic i though you mean these disappearing candy corn nodes you see sometimes
There you go, all the corn goes into the production of high fructose corn syrup for the nonexistent pancakes.
Presumably they use all those windmills to make flour. Not all flour is made from wheat.
Edit: possibly also used to hold up the queen’s frock (starch is also made from corn).
Edit 2: according to Wikipedia, more than ten times as much corn is consumed by livestock as by humans these days. It’s possible that a lot of that Tyrian beef, bacon, and chicken is corn fed.

We don’t have cornbread, corn muffins, popcorn, corn-on-the-cob, or corn dogs in game.
Now I’m all worried about this. Where is all that corn going???

That corn is feeding Cornucopia, the Elder Corn Dragon.

The White Mantle are funding their exploits with a corn-based cartel trade.
It is popped in huge vats and sold by vendors in the Queen’s Gauntlet during the minor league exhibitions when we’re all too busy fighting dragons and such to compete.
I mean they don’t need refreshments to draw a crowd when we major leaguers are on display.
Just kidding, there is a canon explanation:
Tyrian candy corn is actually magically transmuted from corn. Farmers must produce it year round to build up stockpiles large enough to keep the Mad King and his brat at bay for a couple weeks a year. The wizard Isgarren has an entire tower devoted to its production, complete with rivers of corn syrup and diminuative orange minions tasked with keeping the entire enchantment facility working. Year round pack bulls cross kryta under threat from centaurs, bandits, and all manner of threats to keep corn supply to Isgarren’s magical candy corn tower running.
Krytan farmers have done more to safeguard tyria than any fight against the elder dragons ever, and have toiled in obscurity for hundreds of years.

Corn in Tyria is only used to feed horses.
