Q:
Who is the Deap Sea Dragon?
No we don’t really know anything more. All we know is that there is an Elder Sea Dragon (nicknamed DSD) and that the Inquest obviously are aware of it since they have a Zone Blue in the Crucible of Eternity.
The wiki is your friend: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dsd
we don’t know much about him. All we know is that he woke up and seems to have disrupted the homelands of the krait, quaggan and hylek. People will refer to him as “Bubbles” sometimes. But that’s really all we know about him/
I will add that he is implied to be what drove the quaggans, krait, and possibly largos into Tyria as we know it, and that the devs have stated they are being deliberately vague regarding him.
Was he in GW1, or is he nothing more than the hopes and dreams of bored MMO gamers?
There were no Elder Dragons in GW1. When they decided to make GW2, they just changed everything to include Elder Dragons.
Bubbles wasn’t in Guild Wars 1, but Primordus and Kralkatorrik were both seen in the last expansion, Eye of the North (albeit still hibernating).

And a champion of Jormag frozen in Drakkar Lake.
It is also possible that the Karka are involved with “Bubbles”. The DSD might have been the reason why they invaded Southsun Cove, and attacked Lion’s Arch. But that is all just speculation.

We haven’t seen any minions of the Deep Sea Dragon in game yet. However, there are clues in game at places like the Crucible of Eternity, where the Inquest experiment with draconic energy. The Inquest seem to assume there are 6 dragons, one of which is water based, which players have cheekily called Bubbles. There is a indeed conversation between Inquest workers who talk about getting a massive sea creature as a specimen, so big it might not fit into their tank.
Leviathans, big deep-sea creatures, are rumoured to be minions of the DSD, Krait and other deep-sea creatures got driven ashore, and it has cut off the connection to Cantha, and that’s pretty much the extent of our knowledge about it.
Does it really exist? Well, who knows…the Elder Dragons do not feature in this game outside of Zhaitan in the personal story, so we will probably never find out [sarcasm off].
Leviathans have been confirmed by ArenaNet (albeit out of game) to hold no direct ties to the Elder Dragons.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Oh, right, i remember that now. Well, we could in theory still see Leviathans as minions of the DSD, we saw one as a minion of Zhaitan.
Wait, outside of the game you say? :P
Nice to see you still around König.
I am not sure i should have mentioned that T-Shirt… XD
I’m sorry, I just had to.

That’s the kitten sea dragon.
Edit: silly forums. I did not mean kitten. Change the second E in deep to R.

Cool, Thanks everyone for your input. I hope we see more Elder Dragons in GW2, especially more about “Bubbles” If anyone else has any more info, please feel free to share.
