Q:
Who was Lornar?
A:
Named for the legendary Dwarven warrior who single-handedly held off the great Hill Giant invasion of 534 A.E., Beacon’s Perch runs north and south through the Shiverpeak Mountains. Today, this treacherous pass is patrolled by the Stone Summit, and as such is considered hostile to human travelers.

Mind you, this is the description of the GW1 outpost called Beacon’s Perch, but fortunately the timeline does make it clear it was Lornar who defended the pass from the giants. (Possibly it was called Lornar’s Perch in alpha.)
534 AE — Lornar single-handedly holds off a great Hill Giant invasion in Lornar’s Pass.
A fantasy of sci-fi cyborg implants grafted into the desiccated flesh of Guild Wars’ corpse.
Lornar was a legendary dwarf that held off a Hill Giant invasion by himself.
Hope that helped.
Hmm… I remember Beacon’s Perch, but I guess I didn’t read the town descriptions that closely. At least I have something more to read for lore purposes!
This video has some good information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctpT-z5FTmM
It talks about the Lornarr from the fractals, but you get a lot of info on Lornar (’s Pass) as well.
