Yet there’s centaurs. Maybe there weren’t any horses in Tyria in the first place, only Hecarims.

There are plenty of references to horses, they just haven’t made a physical appearance yet.

There is also a scene in the book Edge of Destiny which features horses. They are seen in the distance while Rytlock, Logan and Caithe are on their way to Lion’s Arch.

I think the general consensus is that horses exist (at least in Kryta), we just don’t ever see them. It’s a running joke at this point.

Unbeknownst to most, Trahearne is quite the avid horseplant.

I like to think of horses as something that once existed in tyria, but died out, the same way there are undead gorillas but no alive ones.

And the horses they thought to see in Edge of Destiny were just centaurs with midget-upper-bodys!

The Charr eat them all. They where easier to catch than Grawl.

horses are kind of big and they taste well enough. So I think if there were wild horses in the nordic region, they would have been eaten by the charr and norn.
Both races wouldn’t be good in riding, because too big, too heavy and too much of the predator/hunter in them.

That and a horse probably wouldn’t allow a Charr anywhere near it, much less allow a Charr to ride it.

Loving the signatures of Windu and wouw.

All the horses in Tyria are Mesmers with the power of illusion. Countes Anise, for example, is actually a talking Mesmer horse with a human illusion on it, and I’ve long had my suspicions about Kasmeer.

He has not been seen since because during his short stay on that ship leaving Lion’s Arch, he discovered a side of himself he had not been previously aware of.
So, if you are in Divinity’s Reach and you see across the bar a pretty human girl with compassionate eyes, a short skirt, and a perfect pair of big, round, perky “apples”…

There might be something to this theory of yours.

Tybalt mini. Look closely and you’ll see that he has a particularly female aspect. He, may well be a she (or perhaps death for him was more of a life changing experience than is usual).

Actually some humans from remote places got… Pretty close to horses. Centaurs are just the descendants of those horses, that’s why there are gone. QED.

There were horses long ago, but back then, humans couldn’t jump. Since no one could mount a horse, they were all killed and eaten.

In this case when people see the new new centaur baby and says he looks just like his father, it’s the literal truth.

Awwwwww. He has his tail. How cute.

Probably eaten by the charr in the time they laid siege on the human kingdoms, when the supply lines where very stretched. Or the Norn, they are after all Hunter Gatherers and big eaters.
