any of the dragons tried to eat mad king Thorn?

He is a mass of magic/energy nowhere near their power, yet it seems like he has enough power/magic to give them motivation to devour him. If this were possible would the dragon gain some power from thorn…a way to enter the underworld/mad realm. Or even bloody prince thorns madness casket seems like it would be a powerful enough magical artifact to be sought after and devoured.

The Elder Dragons can’t come near Black Citadel to devour Bloody Prince Thorn. They will get torn to smithereens by Charr siege weapons.

very possible but I would assume that the priory would be taking bloody prince thorn’s sarcophagus thing to their HQ in lornar’s pass. (possibly easy to get it in transit) also other than vigil keep lion’s arch has no real fortifications to the north seems like an easy way to get into lions arch and eat up a king thorn.

He is still technically sealed. Same reason dragons didn’t go after the bloodstones. However, this is just speculation.

Yes indeed, King Thorns powers are huge and even beyond the dragon’s comprehension. However it is the power of Candycorn. At this time of year Candycorn is the most powerfull substance in the world off Tyria. This power flows through the mad kings veins as well off that his family. However this power, bigger then any other power in the world has a limitation. it is only active for 3 weeks per year (mostly the last few days). The rest off the year, the mad king, his son, his followers and everything are as mortally dead as any risen and thats why they hide in the mad kings realm till they are powerfull once more.

The dragons off course know this and are not interested in this time-limited power

That would be my fanfiction to explain it

Arise, ye farmers of all nations
Arise, opressed of Tyria!

Have you ever eaten Candy Corn?
It is nasty and I could see the Elder Dragons say “Yuck! no thanks!”

Elona, Land of the Golden Sun….and undead…and poison. The travel brochure lied okay?!

For 364 days of the year (used to be 359 but whatever, their lore, their choice to make a mockery of it I guess), he’s in the Mists.

When he’s not in the Mists – a place that thus far only Jormag has limited access to, and only via sending minions – he’s in Lion’s Arch. No Elder Dragon is near him.

Same with Edrick. Though his power has been sealed until recently, where he went right into the Mists, nevertheless there is no nearby Elder Dragon or forces of Elder Dragons.

I mean, the Elder Dragons don’t go out of their way to go consuming the magic of the Foefire; nor all the magic in the Durmand Priory. Answer why they haven’t: they can bide their time, far more than we mere mortals, and they’re not close to the locations (yet).

He is still technically sealed. Same reason dragons didn’t go after the bloodstones. However, this is just speculation.

Who said they didn’t?

Zhaitan took over the Ring of Fire, and Primordus has been burrowing all over.

This is a gross overstatement of Charr siege weapons. If they could kill an Elder Dragon by themselves, they wouldn’t have signed a truce with the humans. The only reason the Elder dragons hasn’t wiped Tyria out over the last year is because ArenaNet cannot develop at a pace, with any kind of quality, the events one would intuitively think an Elder Dragon would force on the world.

Krlkatorrik alone is supposedly many times the size of the Black Citadel. The city is only the size of his neck, let alone the rest of his body. And just by flying through the air, he created a battlefront not seen since the Wall of Ascalon built by the humans over 250 years ago.

Shooting Kralkatorrik’s neck is enough to kill him.

Kind of hard to do when he turned into a literal sandstorm (no neck to shoot), or his body is covered in crystals unpenetrable except by his own crystals (reason why that spear made from Kralk’s spine was needed, iirc).

Haha, no.

The Charr are weak singularly against the Dragons. They’d cough and the entire city would be branded, frozen or melted.

They’re just arrogant and far away. They don’t think the mortals are a threat, even after killing Zhaitan with their combined might.
