Why is there unbound magic in Bitterfrost?
Since the maps are locked in time, I kinda assumed there is some amount of unbound magic everywhere on Tyria, we just see it on LS3 only because it’s the only areas where enough time has passed after Mordremoth’s demise.
That said, it is worth noting that the unbound magic in Bitterfrost is a lot less abundant than in Ember Bay, which in turn is less abundant than in Bloodstone Fen.
It’s possible that the unbound magic in Bitterfrost represents places of power, but which aren’t powerful enough to be a mastery or hero point location. For instance, one of the easiest places to get unbound magic in Bitterfrost is from the giant trees – it could be that those trees release a small amount of magic, which can be collected by someone who has the right equipment or training.
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
It’s part of the Current Events that ambient magic is on the rise all over the place. It’s shown in old maps via the ley lines events, but they seem to be showing it in new maps by degrees of unbound magic (and, sometimes, ley line events).
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Jormag is supposedly nearby, if he’s drawing magic into himself like Taimi suggests then there would be a lot of magic floating around

I’d say the easiest and most abundant place for Unbound Magic in Bitterfrost Frontier is underwater. Certainly a lot more found there than in the giant trees.
