At first I thought it was cute, however now I have to ask:

Why are there so many insect themed things in-game now?

All of them with no real explanation and no real relevance to the new areas.

With Season 2 we got:

- Amber weapons, which have an insect style

- Gemstore Armor, which has an insect style

- The new Pact weapons, which also have a insect style in it (Which also appeared without any explanation)

and the new collectable Armor, awhich also features some insect style (but not enough to let me go grasshopper Kamen Rider ) with butterflys for the ladies.

Is there a reason for it?
Does it mean we will encounter some insects that help us against the plants in the future?
Does Glints child rebirth into some insect like being? A chrystal Dragonfly , so to speak? (bad pun I know)

Will insects play a role in the future?
That would actually make sense. Bring down the locusts.

Insects can help plants to pollinate, however they are also very good in destroying them.
So yeah. Do you think all the insect themes will come into play later?
Did we have some possible insects in GW1 that could help us with this angle? (I played it, but I do mostly remember Elona insects, which I hated, though the rollbeatles were cool, and that had allready the egyptian vibe)

The Carapace is not from insects, but Devourers….devourers in GW1 dropped carapaces, that takes care of your new armor. As for the weapons, how many spiders, flys, mosquitoes, etc. have you killed? Plenty of insects in game already.

Fun fact, the new Pact weapons are made in the design of their flagship, The Glroy of Tyria.

@Zaklex: carapaces are the shells of insects and arachnids (eight-limbed insect-like invertebrates). Devourers are arachnids.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

You’re right Konig, I wasn’t thinking, forgot they’re similar to scorpions(arachnida)(I’m blaming it all on disruptive sleep pattern).

Actually, arthropods were associated with the Maguuma back in GW1, being filled with scarabs, spiders, and devourers. Of the regions currently explorable, the Maguuma was probably the most bug-intensive in GW1. So there’s the connection.

To those who think Scarlet hate means she’s succeeded as a villain:
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.

While I agree the Glory of Tyria similiarity (something I clearly have overlooked), it is still appeaerent in the other designs.

While this accomulation can be just coincidal, I hope we get some kind of reason for it.

While we are at it. The Glory of Tyria also had this insect like design. Did we ever get a reason for it?
I know it is often used in SF stories and usually are solar collectors of some sort, if not shielding.
However why does the Ship have it and now, in extension, the Pact.

Is it pure artistic design, or is there a better reason for it?

The old Pact design fused the races (more or less) and we had this blueish design, techno thorny vines and charr/asura craftmanship.
How do the insect wings fit in? A design not used by any of these races. (except as motives for mesmers and aristrocats)
