Wintersday Gifts in the Mists?
I thought the lore said Wintersday gifts were dropped by Tixx’s airship? Yet they do spawn in the mists. Does this have any relevance or is it just a gameplay thing?
Just gameplay, all mobs have the same chance of dropping wintersday gifts. Not a lore thing.

I think the OP means the interactable presents which spawn mobs seen in WvW – but I’d bet this is mechanics too, so as to not force people play PvE in order to get these.

Well the forces in the Mists that encourage us to fight each other for their amusement could have seen the present thing and gone: “People like those? They fight over those? We should scatter them about! I don’t see how this could go wrong!”
