Wizard's Tower In Kessex Hills. New dungeon?
On a more genereal scale: I like, how places we’ve seen in GW changed. I constantly find myself somewhere, thinking “Hm, this looks kind of familiar…” and then realising, where I’d be in GW ^^
After years and years of mystery, and us pondering and theorycrafting on the subject for so long, I kinda want them to never touch it now, because it will loose its magic if we finally have an answer to all our questions.
I think that this tower and cantha are just Half Life 3 of ArenaNet.

“Anything left unsolved in GW1 are just the Half-Life 3 of ArenaNet.” is what I would say.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Have you checked out WP’s video about it? If not: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xslnnsNAUPA
Completely out of lore : Anet isn’t working on any dungeons. It has been said (more or less, because this is Anet and they won’t tell the community to give up hope) that currently there isn’t any plans whatsoever to do a new dungeon.
But, since they are now doing a checklist for lore and trying to do things that people asked for (even if they ignore some major demands, but this isn’t the place for this) we might end up going there some time soon (or not).
However, if they keep it with the checklist spirit, don’t expect anything grand or amazing or full of lore breakthroughs (and not rectons). With maybe a vague cinematic because they know that whatever cinematic they do, people are going to be happy with all the colors moving around.
Oh and don’t be surprised if Isgarren turns out to be a Sylvari.
Errrrm, wasn’t what they said is that they aren’t working on major reworks to existing dungeons?

The team’s resources are spoken for in areas that will have impact on the most amount of players, or on changes that are less of impact to them, resource-wise (smaller projects/changes). As such, we have no immediate plans to revamp dungeons due to this resource constraint. That’s not to say that the team will never have time, in the future, to do large projects like the TA Aetherpath or similar with other dungeons. As Mike O’Brien said in his recent post, if we ever permanently stop working on a particular area of the game, we will tell you all.
You can take this in extremely hopeful way or not. Was she only mentioning changes to current dungeons ? Then why did she also mention TA Aetherblade. Yes it replaced TAFU, but considering it a revamp is kind of insulting to the team that worked on it seeing how it’s completely different from TAFU.
Anyway, to not derail this thread any further : https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Very-disappointing-news-for-you-guys/page/8

They only talk about “rework” and “redoing” dungeons. Guess what? That’s exactly what TA Aetherblade rework falls into. You people throwing fits about this honestly look like you are desperately grasping at straws to reword things into the “devs aren’t doing what I want” narrative. It’s really old at this point.

For the ones who don’t know what happens here :
There is a strong wizard in this Tower. He might know immortality. That’s why in GW1, Verata, a powerful Necromancer, was looking for this tower (if I am right~).
But the Hero (us) stopped it, and kill him. (There is really more to say about Verata)
Now, in GW2, a town grown near to this Wizard’s Tower.
And here this is my theory :
When you talk arround, you might notice Immortal Elemental, controled by the Wizard, and they are here to protect the town.
But you know it’s hypothetical impossible to be immortal (in Gw’s universe). Anything has a end. (Okay, except Gods…)
We know too that there is stranger who’s invited by the Wizard, but never comes back.
Obviously, I think it turns them into Elementals, a kind of philosophal stone’s philosophy.
Others things about it :
- I think he’s a mixed beetween Necromancer and Elementalist.
- The town is near to the Capital of the Tengus !
- It’s not a that bad things because he looks like protecting the town… But maybe for his own.
To return to the main topic, I would appreciate that this story got improve, like somes of the others mysteries.
I already noticed the Town growing during the LS, and I really appreciate it.
I highly doubt this castle will become a dungeon. If you look on the map you will see the castle is quite small. It would probably be a 5 second dungeon where you just walk in kill a boss and walk out.

Maybe, but there could be a portal to a dungeon inside the tower. Which would make much more sense…

Maybe not a new dungeon, but there has been a few interesting theorys about it.

No. Well, not completely right. It was Galrath, a warrior of unknown origin or affiliation (despite using a White Mantle model, he had none with him using the names of White Mantle units). Verata is there with his cult, but there is no known reason why, aside from it literally being one of the furthest points from any authority in Kryta.
Also, the Tower has moved . . . it was chained down in the past, anchored to the cliff but now it is not.
It actually was never anchored. It was chained to some other floating blocks.
And there was a White Mantle necromancer after “powerful tomes” in the tower as part of the War in Kryta bounties.
And we do know hints of Galrath’s history – he held some fame and affiliation with the Lionguard.
Fun fact about the theories about Isgarren having necromancer and elementalist knowledge… We met a powerful spellcaster who is seen at one point as a necromancer, and later on (timeline wise) as an elementalist… That’s right, Lazarus the Dire.

Wait…so Lazarus fled to the mists, but returned as the mysterious wizard!?

It would explain why nobody returns . . .the mursaat do not like witnesses.

it is a ‘wizards tower’, and you never know it might ‘be bigger on the inside’ #drwhoreference…
Rummor mill ::::::: Anet said in gw1 they had plans for the tower but the fans came up with such awesome ideas the orginal plan couldn’t hold up to so they scraped it.

I think I believe ANet is making plans to turn all characters into sylvari more than that.

Are the GW1 and GW2 towers the same tower ?
Because they look very different.

Isgarren did some DIY renovation after he got the Tower.

Yes it’s the same tower. It’s just a redesign via new graphic engine – just like how centaurs, wind riders, wurms, and a whole lot more got changed.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

And charr. Charr got females.
Female charr aren’t a case of visual redesign. However, charr shoulder spikes are.

That’s only a redesign in so far as fashion evolves. I’m pretty sure humans would think old Ascalonian armor was 250 years out of date, too.
The shoulder spikes were bone, like their horns. It isn’t really fashion. But it didn’t make sense either.

My guess is it’s like the Klingon foreheads changing from the Original Series to the Next Generation. It’s not known how, or when, the change took place but they don’t like to talk about it. (It’s been brought up a couple of times)

No, we the audience know. It’s just that the they don’t like discussing it with outsiders.

True, however this story arc didn’t come out until Enterprise as more of an appeal to fans. Either way its widely off topic.

Well, I’ve always been curious about that cool flying castle! Hopefully Anet decides to reveal what kind of magic that Tower Castle lies behind..
it would be a very awesome dungeon. it could have paths that relate to answering unanswered questions.
If they ever decided to make a dungeon for that tower, I hope it would answer a lot of the questions regarding the ancient wizards, and Lord Odrin.
