I was bored and i decided to go on a small wizards tower lore hunt. As i viewed the tower i noticed that it appeared closer than it originaly did and it does in peoples videos on youtube. I also had a look around the town and found an open house with Asuran technology in the attic hidden away. http://imgur.com/0hyc9sF

Someone asked about the proximity of the tower in a different thread (it was a while ago, but I think the verdict was that it hasn’t moved). The Asuran equipment is related to a Peacemaker base there, you visit it during the Asura 20-30 storyline.

A dev posted in that topic saying that the tower had not moved closer. It’s most likely people just viewing with slighting different camera angles.
It’s also worth pointing out that around Halloween last year a new camera depth of field was implemented, so that very well would have affected how far away it appeared to be.
